As for the prince looking like his parents...I remember reading in the King Blog a looong time ago before the game came out that his body type and hair style were meant to resemble Ferid, whilst his hair color, eye color, and pretty much overall nature was supposed to resemble Arshtat. Lymsleia was supposed to resemble her father more...but I forget the reason why he chose to do that.
