Do you think Tinto was named after the Rio Tinto cooperation? Rio Tinto is a world leader in finding, mining and processing the earth's mineral resources.

The whole concept of Tinto in Suikoden II was that it is a mining nation, so it would certainly fit. |

Heh' that's kind of Ironic. Tinto might be a word of a different language maybe meaning Rock, or Mine or something. |

That's not irony. Irony would be if Rio Tinto was a leader in, like, airplane production. Or something. |

I see irony there. Not thick, but it's present. |

It's fitting and appropriate, not ironic. _________________

Yeah, that's probably where the name "Tinto" came from. That's actually really interesting. I wonder if any of the Tinto names (Gustav, Lilly, Marlowe) are related to Rio Tinto.
And no, it's not ironic. Irony is a coincidental opposite. Rio Tinto and Tinto are certainly not opposites, and their relationship is probably not coincidental. |

it could be... i've looked at the company's history/about page and they exist with that name since 1995
but it could also be, that tinto means mountain, rock, mine or something in another language |

Tinto seems to mean "red" in Spanish. There's also a region called "Rio Tinto" in Spain, which translates to "Red Mountain." |
