Does anyone know if there is a difference between colors of dragon or between Dragon's Den, wild and World of Wings and Scales dragons. Why are they weak to archers, besides that they needed to have some downside for major battles?

Dragons come is all kinds of colours... I doubt there's any specific difference related to a dragon's origin. Just like different animals come in different colours, so do dragons... Nothign suprising or special about it...

White may be a rare colour for a dragon as Futch mentioned, and i'd say Bright is rare. But it's not unheard of.

As for why dragons are weak against arrows... Let's just say airborne units are usually weak against arrows simply because they're a good target and relatively easy to shoot since they're in the air.

Compare this. When a regiment of archers stand face to face at an enemy but at some distance, the only way for their arrows to travel far enough to reach the target is aiming at an elevated angle and letting the arrows rain down upon them. This however is not exactly an easy feat to perform. The calculation and angling makes the aim all that harder.

As compared, aiming at airborned units in this case dragons, it is actually easier for an archer to aim. Besides, they're really huge... Also, another way to look at it... If a bunch of flying dragons swoop by and attack the humans, they basically have no chance of hitting the dragons since they're flying... Only bet is shooting arrows.

So in this sense, it's logical that dragons are suseptible to archers. It is just part of the game mechanism to express this as a disadvantage for the dragon by mentioning that they receive more damage if the enemy uses arrows...

Also, in many different games, air borne units and dragons are quite often mentioned to be weak against archers...

Actually, hitting a moving, airborne target should be harder without special training. The dragons are moving fairly fast, they dont exactly have to fly in formation and every time you fire, they've moved a few hundred or thousand feet. Cleary in S1, Futch and Black were skilled enough to get past all the defences except Windy's magic attack. They must have dodged at least one shot on the way in since Black only got hit after they got the plant from the hanging gardens. The dragons aren't that big, judging from Bright and Black. They only look like they're of twice as long as a horse, 4 times wider without including wings, an maybe a little taller. Bright certainly isnt much bigger that Fubar or Feather, and they don't have an archer weakness.

I havn't gotten to the Dragon's den part in a log time, but IRC doesn't the enemy using bows when you use Dragon Knights simply prevent them from taking damage, not actually killing any characters. That would probably mean they had to break off the attack, not that they got shot down.

Just off the top of my head, the only games I can think of where dragons are weak against archers in terms of extra damage are SI and Fire Emblem. Actually, in fire emblem it's the wyverns that people ride in air units that are wak to arrows. True Dragons in FE are nigh-impervious to almost all weapons and have 120ish hp when the max for anything else is 60. In a lot of games the archers win because they can stay out of claw and breath range, but the Dragon Knights essentially bomb their targets. My best guess is the whole archers>dragons thing comes from the Hobbit when that archer downs Smaug with one hit to a chink in his scales.
