Id like the next one to bring back on old true rune that we didnt learn a great deal about. Make the tenkai a dragon knight and give him.... yes the dragon rune.

A good plot would be the tenkai is joshua's son and they are attacked and therefore he is chosen by the dragon rune because the previous bearer had lost their dragon or perished etc. The tenkai then has to find the 108 SOD and restore the dragon knights to their former glory and upon regaining their hq and claiming it as theirs he must crush the opposition who is after the dragon rune what do you guys think?

Thats a great a idea Levenheit,but i don't know if it could work as an entire plot,maybe as one of the paths to follow in the game(and that way they could bring back the trinity system).

I didnt really like the trinity system. My earlier posting was just a suggestion but characters aside, I personally think they could do a lot with the dragon rune seeing as they were never really clear about its powers. All that is knows in it has something to do with controlling dragons. However, how do you explain Futch and Bright? Futch literally just found him. It would make for a great story IMO and at the same time shed some light on what the dragon rune does and how it works

While the trinity system has its problems, I don't think you should give up on the system only cause you didn't like SIII.

We could have a more acessory Trinity system, where you have a main storyline (with silent hero and all the repetitive and traditional stuff), but get to see some private characters action as a bonus, like Luc's chapter and unlike Hugo, Cris and Geddoe´s chapters.

I love the total war games and I think the fantasy setting would be great for those strategic battles, but I wonder if Konami would put so much effort on the war battles, after all they were always something secondary.

I wish that Konami will bring the Cook Off contest back and diverse more minigames like:

-Oriental style Martial Arts Tournament in the HQ Dojo => receiving good prizes and maybe the one or another event which is required to recruit a certain SoD

-Western style Knight Tournament in the HQ => Heavy Armored Knights riding an armored Horse with the Lance and that stuff. When you knock down a knight from the horse, then you can choose what to do: stay on the horse's back and continue fighting like this, or you can choose to get off the horse and continue the fight standing on the ground => good prizes and fulfilling a requirement for recruiting the one or another SoD

-Fishing tournament in Suikoden 5 style. That would be awesome. I always wanted to have Tai Ho, Amada, Yam Koo etc as worthy opponents.

-Casino Style event. You remember Shilo's ending in Suikoden 2? Well why don't they make something like a casino with all the games we learned in Suikoden? Like Chinchirorin, Ritapon, Goppu, Egberts game, Linfas card game there and Fuyo's game. Remember? All of those united in a good event for recruiting new SoD...

-Of course Horse Racing events with bets and that stuff... exactly for the same reason like I discribed above.

What I'm trying to say is: you don't need to be a good fighter to recruit SoD. You can prove yourself in other ways, right?

I want armor/weapons that change how you're character looks - it was a neat function in Radiata stories and easily accomplishable (ok, it's probably a really big pain in the rear for the designers). Not just for the hero, but for the rest of the 108 stars....ooooo my..it would be sweet. Oh, and more customizable castle as well.

Yeah, the look of the 108 Stars who actually go into battles should reflect the gear they're wearing. I don't think it should be that difficult for the Konami dev team on the game to create something like that. Level 5 Studio has been able to do it with both Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy.

Neither of those had around seventy characters to design, though!

I like the casino idea though. A Gold Saucer in your own castle would be pretty nice. And you wouldn't have to search the entire castle for each different mini-game - they'd all be in the same place.

Maybe even go the route of making the winnings not Potch, but special tokens you can use to cash in for rare and fabulous prizes.

Hey, if it is going to be on the PS3 then it's not like the Blu-Ray disc won't have enough room for stuff. Plus, in the games which did have character design changes to reflect the weapons and gear being carried there were close to several hundreds of combinations. Even if it is 70 characters they don't have the tons of choices in gear that Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy had to animate for.

I'd like for at least the main character to have his armor selections reflected in his appearance. The weapon changes appearance everytime the name changes and I like it. I'd like for Hero6 who wears Chainmail to have chainmail on in his scenes. I think it wouldn't be too much to ask. It could even extend to have that appearance in cutscenes. Best yet, the best armor in the game could be the final appearance for the main character called Hero Armor Set or something, and it would only be worn by the Hero6.

That power extending to the other characters, I wouldn't like since it would make them aesthetically monotonous, but for the main Hero I think it would be a great addition.

More dungeons! I can't tell you enough that I want more diverse dungeons than in previous games. Suikoden 5 was a step in the right direction with many diverse choices for dungeons that are completely sidequest options. I would also like dungeons that could be revisited to reveal more levels. For example, if you cam back to Northern Cave in Chapter 4 in Suikoden 3 and a new path had been uncovered for you to go upon, leading to a different boss, different maps and different items, that would be cool. Create some versatility if not more dungeons.

I want more baddies. I hate seeing the same party set of random encounters so more diverse choices and combinations would be great.

Storyline is general good in the series. I'd love to see more depth given to Harmonia and how they are actually pulling all the strings. Suiko5 and 4 were steps away from that direction but that may have been due to orientation and general lack of closeness to Harmonia. Still, having that mafioso like force that's behind it all pulling the strings is something I liked having in the games.

I'd also like to see faith explored, beyond what we've seen so far which can really just be viewed as tenement steps into religion and seeing religion as an aside instead of as a daily lifestyle influence.

Speaking of baddies...

Maybe it's time they didn't use the same design for the types of monsters over and over with just their color and abilities changing. I like Blade Bunnies and all but I think there's like five different version of them in the games with just their color changing. At the very least change the weapon those furry little guys are throwing around. Have the final uber-bunny wielding and throwing a pair of axes that's three times bigger than it. Just change it up some instead of just re-using the same design over and over.

With an armor change mod to the characters it would force Konami to put a little more thought into the armor/weapons that they create. Sometimes the armor felt very genric and out of place - such as putting dancing shoes on the hero 'etc. Not to mention that the series has created alot of "specific" iconic items/armor/weapons that could definatly use some fleshing out to enhance the gameing experience. The technology is there, I would like them to show the extra time and effort - other games have also done the same thing with little trouble - look at WoW, NWN, and even Diablo 1!! All those games had the armor/weapons change for charactes with little difficulty - it's only a matter of creativity which the suikoden series lacks not at all.

And yes, RS was a PHENOMINAL game - reminicent of Suikoden with enough humor and adult themes to give more mature audiences something to laugh about, and enough cutsy stuff to satisfy all the fan girls/boys and little ones who've just picked up RPGs - A great game to introduce a new generation into the RPG world.

If anything I suppose they could keep the "costumes" of the other 107 SODs, but the hero at least should allow for a certain level of customization.
