Early Suikoden Armouring Format

In the early Suikoden Series, does the equipable items eg. body armour, stack in defensive propeties ?
i asked this as i ended up buying all of the same kind of armour for a character.

i think he/she is asking if the defense points get put onto your status.like brass armor is +6 defense points so your defense points go up 6 points.so yes the stats that the armor shows will increase your stats by that many points in those catagories.

I think Zephron might be asking if equipping more than one of of the same item stacks, silly as it sounds. If so, the answer is no. You can only equip one armor, one headgear, one shield (or none), etc.

Please clear up your query.

if that's the case then you can except for in tactics of where you cannot equip the same item more than once.

I think he means the types of armour. Like in Suikoden IV equipping the Hero Set for example. I assume this because he says

what i meant was like, example Suikoden 2, can you equip 3 similiar armours, and their propeties would stack, like example - ?? armour : def 6
can i get 18 defence by equipping 3 ?? armours ?

still don't get it. like are you saying can you equip 3 hats, 3 body armors ? if that is what your asking then no. but you can equip 3 power rings, boots, stuff like that in the extra box.

as stated previously, you can only equip one armor, one helmet/hat, one shield(if applicable), but if you mean accessories, like say the boots early in the game, then yes, you can equip three pairs of boots at once and get 3x the defense value, as silly as wearing three pairs of boots sounds :?

Are you sure you could wear three shoes? I think I remember, that two is the limit... In the German they're called Zehenschuhe, what could be named like toe shoes or something similar...
