Friend is replaying it and she's 3/4ths into the game. This is her clock and stuff.
Goes to show how unbalanced this game is, and how much fluff is in it. Usually it takes 40-50 hours to get to that point and still be within the enemy's level range. _________________ She knows stuff. |

Wow, that's surprising. When my brother played it, he consistently leveled everyone up, instead of just half. But can you really get to 3/4th of the game at just Level 28? I thought that it would be substantially higher. _________________ Guardian of Greenhill & Devoted Protector of Oulan

I remember I was around lvl 40+ around 3/4 of the story. By the end their levels were 52 and 53.
But yeah I know what you mean, the game is a bit unbalanced. Half way through the story, my levels are ard 28 and the monsters near the ice shrine place (where you get the ice summon) is much higher than that. The game requires a lot of leveling up mid game.
In the end I just used a 9999 damage cheat code becuase I just want to see the rest of the damn story instead of mindless monster hunting. ^^"
But it was fun on the second play through because I can take my time then. _________________ Beware the anger that consumes you.

At the end of the game, before the final battle, my party was just barely at level 40. I had to struggle with every battle just to get by. I didn't want to stop and train for hours, and I was having a hard time getting good weapons and armor.
Now, on my second play-through, I'm about to enter Mt. Bur-Ormisace for the first time, and everyone is level 47, and I have the Zodiac Sword (which I got before entering the Giza Rains for the first time, just after getting Belias). _________________

Oh haha, yeah the end was a bit of a struggle if you didn't resort to cheat codes. Basically you need to level up a lot for this game if you want to breeze through it.
But it has its fun times too. Normal monster hunts are where the summons shine. I particularly like watching Ifrit and the Exodus creature kicking monster butt when I let them lose in the midst of some low level monsters. ^^
Oh there's a zodiac sword? wa, maybe I'll try getting it on my next play through. _________________ Beware the anger that consumes you.

Okay, I started to play the game and died around seven times at the beginning, because I tried to achieve something I was way too weak for...
I looked at the help and it told me that I should have at least fourth the strength I had when I tried to kill that enemy. I was really annoyed, because I could enter certain areas and try to succeed, but in the end I was way too weak. Well, I try to live with that and play the game how it wants to be played... _________________

My friend defeated that T-rex at a very low level. He used a knife with an instant-KO chance. Lucky. _________________

Haha, reminds me of when i was trying to go against bahamut in FFVIII, and when i was going to be attacked by the two Ruby dragons, Odins came out on both occassions and Zantetsuken'ed them both. That was lucky as well. ^_^

Yeah, I tried the dinosaur right after the rest seemed easy at the very beginning. Okay, he ate a wolf, but I thought that was fun and hit him. I received more than four times the damage I could have dealed with... _________________

When I beat the game, I was about 44-48 with everyone. The end boss wasn't hard, just annoying.
But, does anyone know the deal with Pharos' other part; the Penumbra? All I know is I went up there and the monsters really let me have it. _________________ "...." - Any silent Hero

I haven't posted here yet, as I recall. I've had this game for a while now and I think I'm fairly far into the game (Pharos), but I don't really like it.
I like the fighting, the hunts, the loot thing, exploring, various previous FF references, but for the life of me, I just cannot get into this game's story. While I play, it's the same feeling I get at the beginning of Suiko V where I'm waiting for the game to actually start...but it hasn't yet. I don't really remember what the story is anymore or why some characters even joined me. I was hoping for a lot more.
I was getting really bored and almost turned it off for a while, but then I came across the Ancient Man of Mystery hunt. That perked me right up and was the first time I was excited to play. ^_____^
The best part of this game to me is just wandering around, getting espers, taking down marks, and just plain exploring. That's probably why my characters are approaching level 70. I don't know if I'll play this again though. I'm just not feelin' it. _________________

I really do not know about this game. It leaves me with very mixed emotions. I am at the beginning, and I feel as the battles are to slow. I am also not liking the license system for now, although that may change, who knows. I also find the fact that battles used to be faster in FF X, than here funny. Also the fact that you must not open some treasure chests to get the Zodiac spear is irritating for a collector (need to open and get every little single thing).
And a question or two.
Is there a difference between the pal and the ntsc version of the game?
Is it just me or was Vaan made more masculine than he was supposed to be from the first pictures of the Japanese game? I mean the shadow, beard, what ever it is, is just ridiculous. _________________
