well everyone i am wondering if this question is true or not?
first of all jowy is my best character and then i would liked that he had been a star.
first of all in the end of the game , jowy don't join the stars cause we have 108 stars so it's full, but i wonder here if he really doesn't join them?
jowy is a true rune bearer , and all true rune bearer are star of destiny so that should be something, and the curse of the beginning rune may make the friends fight but in the game and at it's end jowy is not dead and becomes a good person.
well write you're opinion and plz say why
ok

True rune bearers need not be SoDs. We have seen plenty of holders that aren't. Leknaat, Barbarossa, Windy, Graham Cray, the Queen of Obel, Brandeau, Hikusaak and *Spoiler* the queen of Falena (unlikely, anyway).

Thus, your theory doesn't make any sense at all.

There may, someday, be some kind of "Master Code" for a cheat device that could be used to swap the Stone Tablet space left over by Rulodia for Jowy and allow for Jowy's use in the party. I have never heard of such a code, since it's wishful thinking.

As halberdier covered, true rune bearers aren't always stars of destiny.

While Jowy was an alright character, I think I like him better not as a star of destiny. After going back to the Highland Kingdom, I don't think there was any point in time where I felt he should have been a star in destiny. The only time it would make sense for him to join is when you do the 'good' ending and return to the place marked with an X.. that conversation with Riou, if you decide not to fight him, is the only appropriate time if you ask me. Thus, the game is over at that point, he doesn't need to be a star. Even at that point.. it isn't even that he feels like a star, he doesn't want to contribute to any cause. It's just Riou and himself working things out, really.
In the later part of the game he's your only opposition, it just wouldn't make sense.. unless it were set up like the last 4 stars in Suikoden III where you do a seperate side story sort of thing. Which of course, it is not.

The only real reasoning I can see out of your topic, is that you like him. Which is fine and all, but that isn't a solid enough reason for Jowy to be a star of destiny.

First off, the Black Sword Rune isn't exactly a True Rune as it doesn't give it's bearer the same powers (immortality) only the full Rune of Beginning is a True Rune.

Secondly, atleast he isn't a Hero II's army's Star of Destiny, as seen in the game, and if you're thinking he's in another bunch of SoD's (Highlands), well...
there can be only one Tenkai Star at a time. It's even on SARS' Suikoden FAQ.

So it's a no go.

Whether or not Jowy is a star or not shouldn't make him anymore special either. Jowy was a good leader to the highland people, and I think that's enough. Are you going to like him less because he isn't a Tenkai star? Frankly, I don't see the big deal of having Jowy as a star or not. Jowy is still Jowy whether or not he has a big name attached to him.

Hate to burst your bubble Dragonstar, but Jowy doesn't do much as a leader. He follows Leon's advice as a means to end the war and that's it. He cares nothing for Highland and wishes to see the nation destroyed. That doesn't seem like a good leader to me.

But I digress, it's already been stated that Jowy is not a star of destiny.

In response to your question Nupandu, there is no information about anything that happens to Jowy's family after that scene where he is disowned. However, I would imagine, as the family of the King of Highland, the Atreides clan might get a few perks. That is, assuming, they take him back.

He does come up with the plan to take Greenhill by himself, and that had nothing to do with Leon Silverberg. After Luca's death however, it's quite downhill for Highland.

I'd better tell you before John Layfield burns everyone here alive, the Black Sword and Bright Shield runes are not True Runes by themselves, together they form the Rune of Begining which is considered a True Rune.

When L'Renouille falls to Jowston, the Atriedes family supposedly run off somewhere in the middle of the night, fearing a backlash. This information is obtained from one of the citizens in Kyaro Town. Seems the family did resume relations with Jowy while he was king, up until the final battle...

Thanks for that Wes. I didn't know that. For some reason it never occured to me that I should go wandering around Kyaro after the end of the game. It's always nice to get some new information that you didn't have before.

While as a leader Jowy ultimately failed, it is incorrect to say that he cared nothing for Highland. He stated several times that he wanted to see Highland become a powerful nation so that children like Pilika wouldn't have to suffer.

There is plenty to hate Jowy for. I won't argue that he failed as a leader. However, he did not intend for Highland to be defeated.

However Zonder, once Highland was defeated he wanted to see every shred of nationalism destroyed. He was even willing to die so that the Highland Kingdom would have no reason to attempt a ressurection with his name attached to it. It's rather obvious that Jowy didn't care which nation won the war, only that it ended and the victor become powerful and peaceful.

Aye, I guess you are correct there. Once it became obvious that Highland was doomed, Jowy did want Highland to cease to exist. I guess my point was that Jowy originally went over to Highland because he thought it had a better chance of winning the war, not simply to destroy it from the inside out.
