Suikoden 4 - A Map To Nowhere?

I've managed to complete all of the treasure maps, except for one - #22. And I can't for the life of me figure out where it's showing. Is it possible to get a map that's glitched so that no matter what, the sonar won't go off? I ask this because I have quite literally combed all of the treasure areas. I put on a Champion Rune and literally walked every inch of the Mountain Mass Island, the Limeshelves Island, Mordo Island, and even Donut Island and the sonar never went off once. I spent a good few hours just walking every inch of space and nothing happened!

This is driving me crazy! :?

Somebody might be able to help you if you post an image of it up or at the very least describe it to us.

strategy guide says "possible locations: limestone shelf island, mass mountain island (beach or mountains)"
that is all it says.

I'd agree with that, it's safe to assume it cannot be Donut Island and it's unlikely to be Mordo Island. Judging from the dark brown on it I would say it's most likely on Mountain Mass Island although it could be a close up of Limestone Shelf.

It looks like mountain mass island to me!! I think I had the exact same map. I remember the actual treasure being a lot more closer to the beach than the map showed.

It is on mountain mass or mass mountain or whatever island, but I cannot remember where exactly it is.

It's at the middle of the beach... not on the mountain mas... but on the beach... I think on the eastern side.... right from ship. It's somewhere there...

yes, it's mid-beach at mountain mss island; the margin for error, meaning how close you must be to trigger the 'sonar' on this map, is very narrow. you can't be mre than a pace/pace + 1/2 off or the sonar deactivates; off all the maps i've gotten, this one is the most frustrating to work with. you literally have to pace slowly, as in molasses pouring slowly.

i managed to find it by sheer luck and a rare flash of extreme patience.

The ones that were the hardest for me were the ones that were nearly completely brown. No landscape to help with that one.

I would like to inform you that I love you all. I went to where you all had suggested, walking so very, VERY slowly. I was about to give up when suddenly... it beeped. I nearly jumped out of my skin when it happened!

Needless to say, I found it! :lol:

I wasn't a fan of how the maps are always random, so I couldn't just cheat and look, because minigames like this one that require A) patience and B) putting up with random encounters...are infuriating to me. Normally, I wouldn't have even attempted it, but I wanted a Cyclone Rune, a Rage Rune, a Flowing Rune, and a Mother Earth Rune...so I had to play around with the maps until I got those, at least...

The random encounters did not bother me much. I just had a high level character with me with a slash rune and a prosperity rune equipped and have Noah as a support character.
That way i made easy money while hunting for treasures.
