[Phase 6] Falena vs. Harmonia at Dusumnek [Concluded]

It was only a month before that the Queendom of Falena's troops were sent back from the land of Dusumnek. The Harmonian officials thought that they would have had some time before having to hear from the opposition again due to the distance between the mainland of Queendom of Falena from Dusumnek. The Harmonians thought that the opposition would have to re-supply themselves if they wanted to launch another attack. What they did not know was that the Falenians had already sent a back up army that was planned to strengthen their grip at Haagru. When they found out that they lost the battle at Dusumnek, the reserve army met the fallen units halfway through the distance, and resupplied the main army. The Queendom of Falena had launched a quick counter attack to try to reclaim Dusumnek from the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. So they started another epic naval battle between the two nations.

The Queendom of Falena was desperate to win this battle, feeling that they had the upper hand when it came to naval battles. The Queendom started off by sending out Edge Riou and his 50,400 cavalry troops in 1 huge ship. The Holy Kingdom countered the offense by using the tactic to sacrifice less for opposition's huge loss. Knowing that it would be hard to match the muscle strength of The Overkills from Falena, Dynast offered to sacrifice her unit.

"It would be an honor to die for the Holy Kingdom," said Dynast, firm and full of confidence.

She led her 29,106 magicians in a smaller ship. They sneaked behind the Falenian ship and created an illusion to trick the opposition. The Falenian army was in panic when they suddenly saw three ships coming their way. Edge Riou commanded his army to charge forward and board those ships. Half of his unit already boarded the three ships when Edge Riou noticed that something was not right. He tried to pull back the cavalrymen back to his ship, but it was too late. The illusion faded away and there were no ships at all as half of the cavalrymen were drowned. Edge Riou was furious as he fell to the Harmonian's trick. This time, he charged at the correct ship, as an all out battle occurred between the cavalrymen and the magicians. To the surprise of the Falenians, the Harmonian magicians gathered their magic to sink their own ship.

"The time has come," said Dynast in a peaceful manner as she awaited for her to drown with the Falenians.

This time, it was her turn to be surprised as her magicians refused to let her die with them. They said that she was needed by the Holy Kingdom and she must stay alive. The magicians gathered their last ounce of magic to cast a teleportation magic as they teleported Dynast to the supposedly empty Falenian ship. She could not help but let a tear fell down her cheek as she watched the ship sunk, claiming the lives of the Falenian and Harmonian troops.

Suddenly, a voice was heard from her back, "I didn't know that the Holy Kingdom is so desperate to use such cheap trick."

Dynast turned around to see that Edge Riou, The Gladiatorial Champion from Queendom of Falena was still on the ship. She knew that the plan failed. They were supposed to annihilate all of the Falenians on that ship, but they forgot 1 person, the commander himself.

Edge Riou said, "I shall avenge the loss of my men."

He charged forward with his sword. Dynast was not an expert in one on one combat, she could not defend herself well. With no weapon to match Edge Riou's sword, she tried her best to block the attack with her arms. But that only resulted in her being wounded everywhere. She tried to protect her vital points, keeping herself alive. After being attacked and wounded again and again, she was about to give up. She thought to herself that it was not meant to be, and she had failed the mission.

Yet, as she left her guard down, Edge Riou stopped the beating. He put his sword back into the sheath and said, "This is meaningless. I shall take the victory today, but we both lose our men. There is no real victor among the two of us. I want you off this ship within ten minutes. I will let the sea decide your fate."

The report of Edge Riou's victory was heard by the Queendom of Falena's side, but there was no cheer from their camp. Edge Riou went in to his room, and quietly locked the door. In the mean time, Dynast was still hanging to her life just like how she hung on to the piece of wood preventing her to drown in the sea.

Thinking that a victory was a victory none the less, the Falenian side sent in another cavalry unit. This time, it was Urn that led the unit. The Queen's Demonic Tribesmen numbered a good 38,700 men. But that number fell short when they found out that they were facing Synchysi and his Merry Mobs of Mercenaries. It was a breathtaking battle between the Demonic ones against the Merry ones.

The smiling infantries were shocked as they saw the menace looking cavalrymen. The evil grin of the Falenian cavalrymen were met with the cheeky wink of the mercenaries. No one really knew what happened in this mysterious battle. The infantry survived the attack of the cavalrymen as the mercenaries happily annihilated the Falenian army while suffering 45,616 casualties.

Synchysi donned an unusual smile on his face as the Merry Mobs of Mercenaries got the victory. "Mission accomplished, folks," said Synchysi to his men.

On the other side, The Dark Storm head back to the Falenian flagship, and reported his loss in a gloomy mood. It was not a merry result for the Falenian who had suffered huge blow to their army. Both units had been annihilated, though the score was tied at one a piece for now. The next one would be the decider as The Emissary Peregrine went head to head against Kobold.

There were only two ships full of troops left at that time, they were the ships commanded by The Emissary Peregrine of Falena, and Kobold on the counterpart. The Falenian magician thought to himself that they had been out of luck as both cavalry units were annihilated. He thought that there might be better chance to force a long range battle between the two nations rather than fighting in a close combat.

The Emissary Peregrine brought his 26,100 magicians on his ship as they gathered their magic. The magicians were divided into 3, with one having Fire Rune, one having Lightning Rune, and the last one having Wind Rune. The strategy was to use the Wind unit to cause a hurricane to distract the Harmonian ship, then the Fire unit would burn the ship. As the opponents were in disarray, the Lightning unit would then struck the thunderbolt to destroy the opposition. Perfect plan on paper, but unfortunately for them, the Harmonians were prepared and countered perfectly.

Kobold wasted no time, and simply ordered his 32,202 archers to launch an attack to the Falenian ship. Hundreds of thousands of arrows rained from the sky as the Wind unit of Falena failed to create the wanted hurricane. They were being massacred by the wooden arrows launched from the other ship. The Fire and Lightning units paniced as the plan did not go as they wanted it to be. Both units went early and launched mediocre magic attack. Instead of focusing their attack in 1 huge fireball and thunderbolt, they launched individual tiny flame and lightning strikes instead. The Falenians managed to eliminate 11,498 of Kobold's archers, but before The Emissary Peregrine could order to retreat, he was left alone on his ship witnessing the annihilation of his unit.

"I couldn't believe this. The mighty Queendom of Falena ... annihilated ..."

The Emissary Peregrine then brought the ship back away from Dusumnek as the Harmonian troops cheered loudly to celebrate their first turn victory.

Writer's note: Synchysi challenged for duel that was declined. It was not implemented to the report due to artistic reason. Edge Riou's unit gained a victory, but could not be re-used as he has no soldiers left.

I thought the duel only took place if the other two battles did not have a clear winner? So since Synchysi and Kobold both won, should the duel between Edge Riou and Dynast even take place?

I'm not trying to cheat Falena out of a victory here, but I'm just asking for clarification of this new rule.

I was handled the same way in the Sun's Crest/Huanan's Keep battle with Leb and PF dueling despite the fact that Tinto had two victories anyway, so I guess it is intended to be this way.

I do not think there was a duel between Edge and Dynast because if there was than I am sure that we would have won that phase. I know that we never asked for a duel in our battle declarations.
