So I'm playing through S2 yesterday and I got to the part where Klaus and Kiba were brought before Riou. My question is, has anyone here ever chosen to have them executed? I'd say that'd be a pretty big change in story. Then I got to thinking, what about Ridley and Boris? I've decided to have Ridley die, but im not that far. I wonder who's cooler?
comments anyone? |

Shu won't let you cut their heads off no matter what, if I remembered clearly. |

I think Shu would say that you should forgive them even when you order to cut there heads, he says something about them being useful or something (I can not really remember) but he will not allow it.
About Ridley and Boris, I say that Boris is better and more cooler than Ridley, anyway for me Boris is the best. |

I'm a Ridley fan. I like Ridley. He talked without the "arf" silliness. And so did Boris. But Ridley is just the original :x
And there's a part where you think he's executed but just taken hostage and Sasuke & Mondo save him. I actually once saved him somehow, took me a million tries. _________________

yeah, Shu does say something about them being useful so they don't get executed regardless...
in terms of Ridley vs Boris. I could never bring myself to trigger that event. while Boris does seem cooler....It's just not Ridley T-T I'd put so much blame on myself
even though it's just a game >.< still...... T-T _________________

Yeah, I was always afraid to choose that option before. But during one of my playthroughs I was just flipping through the text and I accidently pressed it. I was a really worried at first, but then the soldier came with the letter that Agares was dead and that Luca was King.
I must say though, the game would be pretty interesting from then on without Kiba and Klaus. Who would Shu have sent to attack the Mercenary Fortress? _________________

I was disappointed when I read a while ago that they couldn`t be executed...that choice was a nice touch in S1, even if you had to forsake the best ending to indulge your bloodthirsty side.
Well, apart from Kraze. _________________

I usually don't go the route of killing those characters because I try to get all 108 stars, but I was always agitated at how in Suikoden I it was impossible to form a party without Gremio no matter how many times you said no. That guy was a character I almost grew to despise until he selflessly sacrificed himself for Tir. _________________

It was probably put in as a safeguard for the end of the game when Shu sends Kiba to attack the Mercenary Fortress. It's the same concept as how someone who has a storyline part later in the game can never be killed in a war battle. Hence you can never kill Viktor, and other things like that. |

Not to mention Flik, or Viktor, or Kasumi, or Krin, or Hix....thank God for the convoy function in S2! _________________

Now that would be interesting. A Suikoden game where your army is the one that loses in the end! _________________

I felt the same way about Nanami for all the time she was forced to join my party. I didn't mind her being in the convoy, but she was just a waste to me when she was fighting. I love putting powerhouses in my party like Viktor, Flik, Georg, Killey, and Bob - but if Nanami's in there, it just throws off the mix for me -
S2 SPOILER - NEXT SENTENCE------
I did show remorse for her when she took an arrow for me in Matilda just like when Gremio was eaten alive by the oh-so-beautiful flesh eating spores. |
