The Harmonian officials were walking around the town that they had just discovered a month ago when suddenly a warning horn sound was heard from one of the many newly built watch towers. A soldier then was seen running quickly toward the official that seemed to be in charge there.

"Sir, report, Sir" said the soldier as he saluted to the official.

The official acknowledged the soldier, and the Harmonian soldier reported that one of their ships had noticed a fleet of ships heading toward the Harmonia territory. The official told the soldier to prepare the ships to investigate the matter further. He then turned his attention to one of the priests who was accompanying him, Saben.

"What do you think?" asked the official.

Saben gave his answer, "Too early to call, we haven't even fully explored the area. But one thing is for sure, we're not giving up the town. I'll lead the Harmonian fleet myself if you don't mind."

The officer from Crystal Valley nodded his head, giving his full support to the priest to lead the defense of Malinsulo, and wishing that the Circle Rune's guidance would protect the Holy Kingdom's troops.

--------------------------------------

In the mean time, on board of the flagship approaching Malinsulo, three commanders of Nameless Lands were having a heavy discussion themselves. They were strategizing on what they would do to take over Malinsulo from Harmonia's hands. They wanted that land the moment they heard that the Holy Kingdom had found a new territory. Nameless Lands planned to keep the pressure to the Harmonians as the two nations continued their rivalry.

Matheau, Raven, and Darkbeat were quarreling among themselves on who would attack the Harmonia's troops first. They all wanted to go first, but they finally settled on deciding who to go first by a game of Chinchirorin. The officer with the highest score would get to decide the order of the units to fight the Harmonian army.

Raven rolled the dice first. 4-4-3. "A three ... not too bad," said Raven.

Darkbeat got the next roll. 2-3-4. No score. He rolled again. 1-4-5. No score again. Darkbeat got one last chance to roll the dice. He threw the dice into the cup, and one of the dice bounced out of the cup. "Piss .. you're out, Darkbeat," said Raven as Darkbeat cursed weakly.

Matheau finally got his turn. 2-5-6. No score. Then he rolled again. 4-4-4. "YES!!! Three of a kind, I win," said Matheau happily. He then decided that they should just go in order of the Chichirorin result. He would go first, followed by Raven, and lastly by Darkbeat.

"I hope the dice would bring us luck," said Darkbeat, totally forgetting that he was already unlucky with the dice.

--------------------------------------

The two fleets finally went head to head. The Harmonian watchmen had informed that the opponents were from Nameless Lands, and Saben ordered the watchmen to signal the Nameless Lands' own watchmen with an offer.

"What is it?" asked Matheau.

The watchman replied, "They offered to fight the battle in 3 rounds. Do we accept?"

"Yes, with the condition that we get to decide the terms," answered Matheau confidently.

The Harmonian army accepted the condition and awaited for the terms to arrive. Not too long after, a homing pigeon landed on the Harmonian ship. It brough a piece of parchment tied to its left leg. Saben carefully untied the parchment and opened it up.

"We would like to have the first round of fight to take place in a small unoccupied island to the east. Then we would like the second round of fight to take place between our two ships without allowing to board one another. The last round, if there is a miracle that we lose one round to you, would be decided with our two ships heading head to head by boarding each other's ships until one of us was totally annihilated. Do you accept?"

Saben nodded, and ordered the watchmen to signal for agreeing to terms. As he rolled back the parchment, a man who looked quite out of place approached him. "I think it is an honor if I could repay the hospitality that you have shown me and my men by opening the battle in the first round."

Saben nodded once again, "I think it would be quite wise for you to do that, Sir Fayt. We expect that Tinto and Harmonia could continue our diplomatic relationship."

--------------------------------------

The first round finally started as both ships anchored to the small island, so small that it barely could hold the number of troops that both sides brought. Matheau led his 9,000 soldier cavalry unit while Fayt led his 12,000 rangers. It was quite a weird choice for Matheau to pick to fight on land, abandoning the result of the hard training for months that his units had gone through to excel at naval battle. Fayt led his men confidently when he noticed that he outnumbered the opposition, but Matheau had a trick up his own sleeve. It was apparent that the visiting Tinto officer was not used by traveling on boats. Most of Fayt's soldiers were starting to feel the effect of the seasick that they had to endure on the long trip from Tinto Republic to Malinsulo.

Both sides charged at each other, and despite Fayt's unit outnumbering the opposition, it was Matheau's unit that came through as the victor. His cavalry soldiers were fully functioning as they were used to travel on boats. They easily slashed down the weakened rangers. Fayt, fighting to defend the honor of Tinto Republic on the eye of the Holy Kingdom, did not plan to go down without a fight. He ordered his men to bring the Nameless Lands soldiers down. But soon, the difference between the two units showed up as Fayt lost 8,338 of his rangers while Matheau only lost 6,290 of his cavalry soldiers. Fayt had no choice but to retreat admitting defeat as he knew that a longer battle would only result in more casualties on his side. Matheau led his men back to his ship in triumph.

Fayt head back to the Harmonia's flagship apologizing to Saben, but the priest said not to worry. There were still two more rounds to go that Harmonia could take. On the other side, Matheau's victory was welcome by Darkbeat and Raven. They were all estatic with the win and would be happy to finish it off on the second round.

The second round started as Raven led his 9,900 magicians to the open sea. The Harmonian flagship, consisted of Saben's own 15,116 magicians, followed the opposition as they prepared to go head to head in a long range naval combat. Raven without hesitation ordered his magicians to gather their magic into one frontal attack. He planned to sink the flagship. Saben was calm to counter the opponent's tactic. He knew that it would be a hard task to beat the opponent with such huge magic power. Saben was left with no choice but to order his magicians to use the ancient technology of Rune Cannon.

"FLAME ARROW!!!!!" chanted the Nameless Lands magicians as a huge flame gathered above their ship, forming a giant burning arrow shape. It then quickly moved toward the Harmonian ship.

Saben ordered his own magicians, "FIRE!!!" The magicians gathered all their magic power to the Rune Cannon and the cannon fired a huge ball of magic.

The two magical shots collided in the middle of the sea. The giant arrow was swallowed by the huge ball of magic, but then the ball of magic cracked as a smaller flame arrow pierced through. As the arrow pierced through the ball, the ball of magic was left with no obstruction as it headed straight to the Nameless Lands ship. The flame arrow hit the Harmonia's ship and killed 9,146 of Saben's magicians while the ball of magic annihilated Raven's magicians. Raven was left alone on the ship as he stood up with a white flag waved on his right hand to signal his defeat.

The final round occurred immediately as the Nameless Lands ship headed straight away to the only Harmonian ship left. Darkbeat was eager to get revenge for Raven, as he led his 4,500 infantry soldiers to board Rocky's ship. To Darkbeat's surprise, he found out that the Harmonian ship housed a unit that tripled the number of his own. It was too late for Darkbeat to retreat, and he intended to kill as many Harmonians as possible. Unfortunately, his men was only able to defeat 2,218 of the 13th Autonomous Corps. In return, Darkbeat lost all of his soldiers to end the third round in Harmonia's win.

"I can't believe that we lose," said Matheau. He was disappointed with Raven and Darkbeat's failure to get the necessary second victory.

He then smirked, "But worry not. This is not over yet. If they can overcome the odds, we can too."
