Preparing to march their proud army on the Republic of Tinto's former capital, the Imperial Scarlet Moon Army marched forward toward Tinto City, at Lion's Maw.

Conversing inside, the President of Tinto, iscalio, and his lieutenant, Brecht were discussing ways to overpower their foes.

Brecht suggested, "Their numbers are few, Mr. President. I suggest giving them a barrage of bolts from your crossbowmen, then letting my magicians finish them off!" "A sound plan!" responded iscalio, and he led his forces forward, prepared to meet the onslaught of men.

Meanwhile, Samurai X and Raze led their forces forward, with great eagerness, side by side. Upon sighting the vast army ahead of them, Samurai X volunteered for the vanguard. Raze approved, and the two armies marched toward the vast army of Tinto.

As soon as the infantry was within range, iscalio's men unleashed a torrent of bolts upon the charging foe. The infantry began to fall, one after another, but still they furiously charged with their commander, but in vein. They only managed to slay a few of the crossbowmen, while losing their entire force.
