The dust began to settle as the two opposing armies took their places on the field of battle... To the north, the Jowston lines were in perfect order, and to the south, the Highland forces were arrayed in their full splendor. Though outnumbered significantly, the Highland forces prepared to take their defensive stance, in anticipation of the army.
Meanwhile, the Jowston field general, UberYuber rode out to address his men. "Gentlemen, today we fight in the name of justice, and all that is right! Let us fight with the ferocity to make our foes tremble in fear and soil their pants! Let us also march forth, and show our enemies that football is a sport not played with a round black and white ball, but rather a brown, oval shaped ball with laces!"
The Jowston soldiers glared at one another in disbelief, not sure what to make of the speech...
Tired of waiting for a reaction from his startled troops, UberYuber shouted, "For Lady Schala-Kid, and the alliance!"
The Jowston troops then shouted in unison, ready for battle.
On the Highland side, the soldiers stared nervously, awaiting the attack. Sinocard conversed with his lieutenants in preparation. Looking to Falcon Critical, he nodded and pointed, "Alright, I'm not sure what they're sending at us, but I want you to scout out!" Falcon Critical nodded and marched forward with his archers, anxiously awaiting their enemy's advance.
UberYuber rode over to Unknown, commanding 30,000 armored cavalry. UberYuber said to him, "Well, pookie. Looks like you get to be the one to take the field!"
Initially startled by the comment, Unknown anxiously nodded and took the field with his cavalry.
As the two forces closed in on one another, Falcon Critical sounded the call to arms, and his brave archers attempted to ambush the raving warrior cavalry forces. Unfortunately, they were badly outnumbered, and their surprise attack did not fool the enemy. Though they fought bravely, every last one of Falcon Critical's men were slain on the field, though they inflicted moderate losses on Unknown's troops.

Falcon Critical was badly wounded, but able to make it back, with the help of his attendants. Sinocard was speechless at the result of losing all of Falcon Critical's men. Wolf Stew, an associate of Sinocard's volunteered to go forth, but Sinocard objected and said, "The situation looks bad. It's best if I go forth to meet the foe." And so he led his own Highland elite cavalry force toward the enemy.
Unknown came back to camp and reported his rout of the enemy. UberYuber was excited with the results and congratulated him by slapping him on the back. Surprised at the informal congratulatory gesture, Unknown suggested that Crono take his infantry to the field, to clean up the rest of the Highland forces. UberYuber approved, and thus Crono marched his men out to meet the onslaught.
Sinocard's cavalry spotted the large infantry force from a distance, and descended upon them, breaking through their lines and causing mass chaos among the Jowston troops. The troops, in disarray, began scurrying in all directions and trampled one another to death. All perished, or were slain by Sinocard's forces. Crono scurried away, amidst the chaos to report back.

Sinocard returned victoriously to his camp, and drank with his officers to celebrate the occasion. To ward against counterattack, he placed Wolf Stew and his regiment of magicians in charge of defense.
Once Crono returned, and reported the situation, UberYuber immediately planned a counterattack, claiming, "They can't be the ones to win the day!" He had his large cavalry unit plan for a night raid on the enemy camp.
Leading his forces out, they approached the magicians, stoutly standing guard. The magicians, aware of the impeding attack, chanted their spells and took a terrible toll on UberYuber's massive force, wiping out over a third of his 63,000 + soldiers. His men began to lose heart and flee towards Jowston, but UberYuber hit himself in the chest with his fist and let out a thunderous shout that went, "WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!" Inspired to action, his cavalry charged furiously at the exhausted magicians, slaying them to the man.

UberYuber's cavalry had won the day, and was now in hot pursuit of the Highland army, who were forced into a massive retreat toward Fort Rhetto. Immediately, the Jowstonian forces laid siege to the fort, and pitched camp, readying themselves for a decisive battle...
