[Phase 5] Highland vs Jowston at Ryube [Concluded]

Ryube was in chaos as nearly 1000 Highland troops marched in, taking control of the village. Moody Mage, who was in charge of the attack, stood at the village scare, ordering troops to secure the village and to not harm the villagers.

"What if Jowston forces come here, we're too few in number" complained Kairyu, leader of the Crescent Lions, clutching his bow.

"Jowston is being attacked at their capital as we speak, they are also being attacked in the south--thanks to Scarlet Moon. They won't be able to spare much soldiers for protecting this rinky-dink village, if at all!" Moody Mage replied with a confident smile, patting Kairyu on his shoulder.

Suddenly, a scout gallopped into the village square, scaring some children. The scout hastily announced, "Enemies to the west sir!"

"Faster than expected... give me numbers" Moody Mage replied Moodily.

The scout dismounted and walked over to Moody Mage, whispering into his ears, "more than 10000 sir..."

Upon hearing the scout's report, Moody Mage thought quickly, and then proclaimed to his troops, "an enemy scout party is heading this way, we will ride out and strike them!" Soldiers and generals readied their weapons quickly. It didn't take them very long before three regiments were ready; Moody Mage commanded all of them to leave, heading westward.

About that time, Jowston royal guard, Kohaku, was informed that Highland units were approaching them. He quickly ordered other leaders of this, and Jowston's ranks composed of tens of thousands of men lined up in battle formations, prepared for combat. They were befuddled when only a few hundred enemies appeared in front of them.

One of the enemies proceeded forth--

"I am Moody Mage, court magician of the Highland Kingdom. I seek a duel. Do you accept?"

Sniffing something fishy, Kohaku declined the duel. Although this made some soldiers question Kohaku's courage, resulting in 4961 soldiers leaving, they were still massive in comparison to Highland Kingdom's army.

"We must protect our land!" Kohaku said, as he ordered Eggith Cyrene and his own regiment to charge against Highland's troops. The battle ended in an instant. Eggith Cyrene's 9900 men cavalry and Kohaku's 24750 royal infantry easily decimated Highland Kingdom. Kairyu and ShuTheLord both retreated hastily.

"Lets pursue them," Eggith Cyrene said. However, Kohaku stopped Eggith Cyrene.

Kohaku explained to Eggith, "there were too few of them, it seems they are trying to lure us. We have no need to be hasty, lets send out our scouts and give our men some rest."

Meanwhile, Moody Mage was ecstatic as he rode back to Ryube, "that would stall them for a while before we get our reinforcements!"

Kairyu replied with amazement as he rode beside Moddy Mage, "I thought this would be my last day when I saw that army, good thing you had a plan up your sleeve!"

Royal Guard Kohaku, after successfully driving the Highland advance force back towards Jowston Hill, halted his infantry force as he surveyed the fields. As his men approached the edge of the forest, he told his men to stand at attention, and be alert for enemy traps. Eggith Cyrene approached him, and coaxed him into taking the fight to Jowston Hill.

Just at that time, Moody Mage, hiding in the bushes, ordered the ambush to commence.

Already expecting the ambush, Kohaku's men sprung into action. Falcon Critical shouted to his archers to commence fire, but the arrows landed behind the charging men. Kohaku's Royal Guard had slain every last one, as Falcon Critical himself ran back towards Jowston Hill.

We have won for now, they'll be time to retake Muse, later." Satisfied, Eggith Cyrene ordered his men to stand down. The Jowston army marched back into Ryube to celebrate their victory.
