a while back I suggested to Harmonia Online that "we" make a cookbook.
now, I am banned there (for silly reasons) and short of have a grudge.

Basilcy the cook book should be best handed as "cook the foods you cook in the game"

but, there are some problems, for one discovering all 200+ dishes is no biggie, the real problem lays within "suikoden speficied" meals, such as Kobold Pie, Nanami cake and Kraya chicken. Because these things don't exist in our world we'll need to brainstorm and figure them out.

also, because Suikoden was made in Japan and possibly by a team of Predominatly Japanese people, most of the foods are going to be obviously "cultural" (like Goyza and such) also, if somone is trying to submit somthing they know nothing of, either enlighten them or stop them, I don't know what "Age" means, but its either sauce or deepfrying.

last but not least, there are finicky little things called "box lunches" now, a new resturant opened up by me and I had one.

if you don't know what one is, the internet, me or somone else can tell you. All I can say is "its more presentation than cooking"
http://store5.yimg.com/I/comp4us-ids_1798_460401
the semi circule is for a sauce.
anwya, I wanted to make my own fan-based Suikopage, or conqure one and make it my own, there are enough good infomation ones out there that I feel its safe to make a "fun" page for fans to submit stuff.

in the meantime I have here and HO if I get unbanned.

Please don't take this as "true spam" it is a suikoden topic, and like your favorite characters now you to can eat the stuff Meimi(mimi?) and Hai Yo make.

so, lets talk about it. do you think I'm crazy? Oh also i don't have all the recipies in Suikoden 2 (and possibly 3) so, some more help is needed. There is plenty to go around, and almost everyone would be able to have a chance to "feed us".

I tried making Nanami Ice before, I have an ice cream machine and I put a 1/8 cup salt with the regular recipie. It turned out bitter, but shinny. So if you like bitterness, like coffe and mushrooms, then I can write down the recipe. Kids don't try this at home.

That's an awesome idea! I'd gladly help! I don't know how well I can recall all the recipies... I have a fair number of them in my most recent play-through, I think. But if you need help finding/making/trying out recipies, I'd be happy to be involved! I think a friend of mine and I might be crazy enough to have a few 'suikoden cooking' fests, and we could get a lot done then.
Would you be looking for pictures of the food when it's made too?
*laugh* It's a crazy idea, but a super-fun one!

Oh my gosh! *giggle* I have got to try it! Nothing could be better than Nanami's fresh, home cooking! ...at least it's shiny. *grin* send me the recipie!

Actually the idea of creating the Suikoden II cookbook had been brought up in H-O 2-3 months ago and I'm the one who is supposed to do it. Unfortunately I have to put it on hold due to limited online time.

I'm not sure what kind of "cookbook" you're trying to do here, but mine is a very simple one and nothing fancy like probably what you had in mind at all. Definitely not 200s of recipes at all.

if I recall correctly...I think my Genso Shinso books have the recipes for some of the dishes that appeared in Suikoden...

I've have to doublecheck on that and even if it does...I can't translate them anyway.
But this is a fun idea..

I dunno, I was Banned at HO like....more than 3 months ago and broght it up somwhere.
sadly, your CB dosen't have a link. anway, I bookmarked some recipes I found in one of my mom's books. It may of been "sweet omlette"

just rerember, converting "game revelent foods" into "real foods" might be hard, I suggest steak and kidney pie for kobold pie, or sheperd's pie. Kobolds are traditionaly a type of earth-fae so, prehaps reserching the geographical orgin of the etheral animal would shed light onto the mystery that is "what in tarhoonie is Kobold Pie!?"

anway, can somone come up with a list? don't have me for this, but it'll be a long "scroll in the park" (hehe scroll instead of stroll)

~@~++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++~@~
how to use this. parentisies show what "spice" is used. brackets indicate a thought or question directed twords the nature of the dish. Wigglie brackets indicate "is this what you mean", again another comment directed twords the food, example..."beef and tripe soup" can be found in a can, its called "pepper pot stew", is has tripe in it. (tripe is the fatty lining of a cows esopagus and stomac, it can be purchaced next to beef meat) Also there are other comments I've written. sorry for the decor but it helps seperate my train of thought (or train wreck for that matter)

Back in the days of Castle of Kain, the man known to some as 'NichtWahr' and to some as 'Shiro' (from the Gamefaqs boards) created a page for Suikoden 2 that linked to real-life recipes for all of the recipes. That page is long, long gone, but he may still have the page available. I doubt it though.

Well the cookbook that I'm trying to make is really basically a simple set of recipes that were created from other sites. So it's not really "I'm making the whole thing by myself" but more similar to the one that was made by NichtWahd/Shiro where we didn't take the credit for it, but only providing the recipes for those who are interested in it.

And my cookbook wouldn't feature the whole hundreds of recipes, but only the 40 main ones.

Quote:
sadly, your CB dosen't have a link

Of course there isn't a link of my cookbook because it's not finished yet. And it wouldn't be finished until about at most a month from now because I would only have unlimited internet time starting from around next week. By then I would most likely finish it in around a week, and then give or take another few weeks for it to be ready to be put in Harmonia Online page.

[..............] doesn't seem like something directly from the game I guess but I thought I'd say it in case people were wondering

^^ heh...if I could figure out the instuctions I could try to make this one day..

recpie source may have some of these foods.
acctually recpiesource.com is a very funny page. look at the humor section. you can find recipies for dinosarurs and vulcan food.

anway Its a long journey to find and alrer recpies. moreso when You have 13 or so cookbooks.

I did find fish tacos (mexican) and some of the ommlete recpies. Sweet Ommlete exists!

Heh; and here I was about to bring up that I had made such a thing. Unfortunately, because of linkrot, 8 of the first 10 recipes lead to 404s. (A bunch of 'em linked to 'soar.berkeley.edu' which seems to have gone missing in the four and a half years since I created that page. ...wow, has it been that long since CoK?)
In case you want to see a copy, it's on archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/20010219193215/cok.souleater.org/restaurant. shtml
