it's just a poorly done game illustration; its style is more appropriate to say, a romance novel *GAG, CHOKE* than a game and has been the target of scorn in the suiko fandom for some time now.
fortunately for suiko, fans saw past crappy art and opened themselves up to a great rpg-too bad other games can't win fans over in spite of certain shortcomings.

Yes it was but as you can see after some time the suiko covers improve dont you think so? anyway thats the first suiko game so its actually understandable we do begin somewhere right? :wink:

I'm guessing you're looking at the American cover. I don't know why they put that cover on, maybe it was a mistake of some kind. Or perhaps they only read what the game was about and told an artist to make a new cover since the original cover was basically water-color. Not appealing to the western fans I suppose. Though, they probably left the cover alone after the game became greatly popular.

Mine has like a demon with 3 skulls on his upper body(Perhaps Yuber?)
Then some archer(Mst likely Ted)
Some girl in black with lighting bolts in her hand(?)
Another girl black hair no clue who she is
A chinese looking guy(maybe Barbosa?)
And another guy 4get what he looked like.
So anyone know who they are?

From what I can gather, (starting from top left and going clockwise)
The Chinese Emperor guy is Barbarosa
The guy on the dragon is Futch (duh)
The guy who looks lilke Kyle MacLachlan carrying a staff is Luc
The woman with the necklace is Leknaat
The monster is a Demon Sorceror
The lightning bolt woman is Windy
The guy with the bow and arrows is Ted
That's just my take on it, other may see different people.

Yes the American cover was dreadfully ugly, good thing Konami learned from their mistake and S2 has one of the best cover arts IMO.

What a shame. At least the PAL people get the original Japanese cover to match with the awesome game inside.
Looks more like a localization attempt that went horribly wrong. |

yea tell me, I can't recall how I felt about the cover. I got the game regardless, but then i was wondering about it.
Then It hit me I guess one day. "who are these people"?
anway speeking of covers. on the others, that art with lines and bars (the graphics in the circular art) what style is that called?

Futch does not have a red cape, and that is NOT Luc.
It looks more like random hero pics to me, more than anyone in particular (though the Chinese guy is VERY barbarosa)
Thought I must say, if that is Windy with the lightning bolts, then I wouldn't mind having her chase me for three hundred years if you catch my drift. *Drool*

Those are not who they are at all.
The only connection I made was that I thought that the Chinese guy looked like Kraze.
