Try this for fun's sake... I did it.. Suikoen 2 isn't that hard. A party with

Of course this poses a certain difficulty, but it's not impossible.

Of course, the challenge includes all the squirrels being alive. Now that's the hard part isn't it? Since people can defeat beast rune with Riou alone.

I've got to try that, looks interesting, though I'll probably find it harder to recruit them....they never show up!! I've got two so far...

Suikoden 1 :-

I never spent much time on my party, as the game was so easy. I just put Tir, Pahn, Cleo, Victor, Flik, and Kirkis on my team. (not in that order)

Suikoden 2 :-

Diddn't think too much, just had Riou, Luc (good mage), Clive (He's just cool), Victor and Flik (they were there in the first game so why not bring them again), and Kahn (had an empty spot after Nanami, and he had a resurrection rune).

Suikoden 3:-

Hugo as flame Champion, Salome (just because I needed someone to stand around heal), Futch and Bright, and Franz and Ruby (just because I like mounted pairs, and they do a lot of damage easily).

Suikoden 4:-

Lazlo — You have to have him, but I found his rune to be useful, and the stats aren't that bad.
Snowe — I liked him and him and Lazlo have a great unite attack.
Kika — Great Falcon rune, and can also heal the other members.
Ted — awesome rune! And he's also used a bit for healing...His magic is pretty good so I mainly use him for offense.

Never beat the game. Got to what appeared to be the final dungeon, just got bored out. I plan on playing it after I finish my replay of the first three games (I'm in ch. 4 of III)



Also, it's good to note I have played Suikoden I and II numerous times so the parties I posted are just the more recent play throughs. I have used many different parties. However, the constants are the heroes, Flik, and Viktor. I've only beat Suikoden III once, going to be twice, so I posted my only party for the end.

Notice some themes there? Lorelai, because she rocks; and Viki, because, for some odd reason, she scares me more then anyone else in the entire series. Something about going up to your teleporter, asking for a teleportation, and, just as you're being teleported off says "Oops, I've forgotten the spell again..." or "Uh-oh...". C'mon, you gotta admit, that's just scary. She could accidentally send someone of mild importance to the game into the belly of a volcano! So, why not use her to kill some bosses instead!

Well here's my list, keep in mind that I've only played through Suikoden III once and plan on changing that party when I play through again.

Suikoden I
Tir: I keep dropping hints that he's not needed but he just won't leave :D
Kirkis: Better at magic than attacking but good at both.
Flik: Required but a good all rounder.
Viktor: Had to have him but him constantly being counterattacked pissed me off.
Cleo: Same as Kirkis
Morgan: He was a late inclusion on my latest playthrough after I found out that Suikoden V was set in Falena, just gave him a boar rune and had him heal with items when needed.

Suikoden II
Riou: Wouldn't get rid of this guy even if I could.
Killey: My favourite character, great offense and good magic.
Eilie: I like her and she makes a good healer/attacker.
Pesmerga: You just can't argue with black armour, just plain physical damage.
Sierra: Good magic, decent attack and managable defence.
Georg/Clive/Tir: I'll probable use Tir when I get him but have used Georg or Clive in the past depending on whether I wanted a tank or another LR attacker.

Suikoden III (Only gone through once)
Hugo: He's my flame champ and can cause good all round damage.
Nei: Good at magic plus has a joguleur rune.
Futch: Good attack and decent magic plus teams up with Bright.
Bright: Good attack and can team up with Futch.
Juan: Lots of attacks and good damage makes him a powerhouse.
Sasarai: I personally liked Sasarai and he was a good offensive magician for my party.

I'm planning on starting Suikoden III again once I complete Suikoden II (again) and what I can't remember is whether or not it's possible to have Chris in my party at the end if Hugo is my Flame Champion, would someone be able to tell me?

Great Tree
Lazlo: All rounder and ends up being my main healer.
Jeane: The magician for bosses, this babe gets enough magic that you'll never run out of spells.
Kika: Falcon Rune anyone?
Gretchen: Good attack, can wear Ogre armour and has 3 rune slots making her one of the better attackers.

NOTE: Jeane, Kika and Gretchen can use the Allure Attack Unite destroying any random encounter that I come up against.

Cray
Snowe: Great physical strength, more likely to kill himself if you let him near a rune though.
Ted: His soul eater rips Cray apart
Millay: All rounder
Ameria: All rounder

If I can use Chris in my final party in Suikoden III than I will have used the Tenbi star in every game.

Well...to be honest i don't think it matters all too much who you use in your final party, since the final bosses are pretty easy to beat :P
As long as everyones on level 60+, then it should be simpleeeeeee.

Okies here's my rundown.

Suikoden 1:

Valeria: Fav all time character and falcon rune every round
Viktor: Double beat <3, had to take him
Flik: Sometimes I even put him in the back row so he's just a mage, had to take him.
Tir: Soul Eater is the cheese, had to have him but wouldn't do it without!
Rubi: Useful ranged attack up to the last boss, good magic for the final battle.
Kai: Not great in the final battle itself, but it made the ride there so much easier.


Suikoden 2:

Valeria: Falcon rune now has a critical hit, exertion and double-strike!
Bob: Warewolf form and double beat cuts through anything. period.
Genshu: Horribly weak with next to no customisability, yet I always take him :p
Riou: Had to have him, Battle Oath first round gives most of the party zerk status. healer only.
Karen: Mother Earth is great on her, she casts support magic first round then earthquake once the rune is dead.
Tir: Always a mainstay, Soul Eater Judgement x3 for maximum effect ^^


Suikoden 3:

Chris (FC): Good defense and swing, had to take her
Mel: Faster than Geddoe with Thunder, plus much cuter!

Fred: Tank of tanks - massive defense + defensive skills, sword of thunder to give him fast hits
Aila: She's no slouch on patk and great affinity with the sheild rune. berzerks people first round then heals.

Ayame: With Double-Strike alone her shrike rune takes out any one of the runes in the first few seconds of the fight... add fury and:
Landis: Notoriously useless for most battles, here he has good MDF and the unite with Ayame is dead fast. Double-Strike rune and if Fury lands on either him or Ayame then its guaranteed 9999 damage to Rincar even if he defends, Mel will finish off the one round win ^_^


Suikoden 4:

Kika: Return of the beloved Falcon rune!
Lazlo: Rune of Punishment is really useful esp once it also heals.
Wendel: Once I removed the Robe of the Dead she didn't die so much, great matk with Rage/Thunder rune and a flowing rune just in case things go wrong.
Ameria: Good patk and awesome affinity with *Cyclone... healing/attack.


I dont always go for the "best" setup, I wouldn't normally take Landis in GS3 but the unite is too awesome to pass up. I very rarely take a dedicated mage with me, they're too fragile and often not good in the lead up to the boss.
