It was a pretty good time to panic.

What had started as a refugee effort turned into a slaughter. Ohio soldiers held the civilians who sought only to feed their families prisoners on suspicion of espionage. Hungry, angry, and betrayed, the civilians apparently fought back, and all hell broke loose afterward. Every civilian who was still alive was running around in panic.

Not Linda, though. Not while she still had her son. She promised him she'd come back. She had to get away from all of this. She noticed that the perimeter of the camp was heavily guarded, and desperately searched for an opening when she suddenly felt someone pulling at her leg, causing her to trip and fall on the ground. When she turned to face her assailant, she saw one of the civilians that made the trip across the river with her. He had wild eyes and carried a large, jagged rock in his hand.

"YOU DID THIS!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. "YOU'RE THE SPY! YOU TOLD THEM!" Linda protested his cries, but he would not listen to reason. She raised her hands as the insane man raised his rock, intent on bashing her skull in with it.

That never happened. Instead someone had messily slit his throat from behind. She quickly crawled out from underneath the insane man and looked up at his killer, a female Ohio soldier with cat ears and a pair of knives in her hands. Her heart sank briefly--out of the frying pan, into the fire. However, this soldier wasn't interested in her death...

"Get out of here!" the soldier screamed, pointing towards an opening in the perimeter. "That way!"

Linda didn't need to be told twice. She nodded to the felinefolk and hurried out of the war zone.

Blue turned her attention to all the chaos going on. She saw this slaughter for what it was--a disgusting attempt at propaganda on the part of Tzimisces. She was among the soldiers sent to take part in this mission. All that was known was that One Nation spies were among the refugees. Blue asked if her commanding officer had proof. The CO said that the proof was in the hands of Tzimisces, and that he supported his decisions. "Like a sheep," she muttered under her breath. Despite all of this, she had seen no evidence of One Nation involvement. If this was propaganda, Tzimisces was doing a terrible job of it.

At least, that's what she thought until she heard a cannon fire from the western bank of the river. She looked up and found an artillery shell at the peak of its arc, heading directly for the refugee camp.

"Oh fuck me," she muttered under her breath as she realized that she and all of the other Ohio soldiers had been sent on a suicide mission.
