If we support the game, atleast Konami is likely to make a new Suikoden, for better or worse. If Konami loses faith in the selling potential of the series, they might simply drop it. That is why supporting Tierkreis is a good idea, regardless of your personal preference.

So you're saying that you'd rather have them churn out bad games that have nothing to with the series that originally got you interested in it than seeing the series die? What would the freaking point be? You're happy as long as there something with the name Suikoden on it regardless of wheter it's good bad or even a game?

Here's how it works:

Tierkreis = success = future of the series = might as well be dead.
Tierkreis = failure = possibly the death of the series = no freaking difference.

Or:

Tierkries = success = lets Konami know that there is still interest in the series = Suikoden's team spirits are renewed = Suikoden VI in old world

But apparently you know exactly how things will turn out and we're all just fools for disagree with you. Sadness. ;_;

Yeah that's logic for you.

"Hey guys! That Suikoden game we did that has nothing to do with the other games is selling fantastic! Let's cash in on that by going back to the old formula that didn't sell!" *facepalm*

No, more like "OK, we haven't completely lost our fan base by the poor receptions of Suikoden IV and V. We also seem to have gained some new fans from the Nintendo crowd. Let's get into this thing."

Edit: Besides, Suikoden has never been a cash cow, so I doubt milking Suikoden would be their idea. They seem dead set on milking more popular series' like Castlevania and Metal Gear.

[quote="TruePerception":2jxqye0i]If anything, they are testing the waters

I still find it funny and also a little pathetic that Konami is so nervous these days, they're "testing waters" on a system with 100 million worldwide players, and launching Tierkreis on the same day as three other RPGs for that system, and ten during the same month. Konami may think they're testing, but to everybody else, they're jumping on an increasingly crowded bandwagon. I simply have to wonder, who has time for all these DS RPGs? They come out every week, and take about 40 hours to finish on average, so it means that a person wanting to keep on pace with most of the RPG releases would have to play constantly to finish an RPG every week. The end result is that a lot of RPGs will see less sales. People will be playing the RPGs they bought for a month and so and not buy another during that time. The same phenomenon is also happening in Japan of course, even moreso - the amount of DS RPGs released there is insane.

In 2005 and 2006, where was Konami then? When there were only a few DS RPGs on the market, like Contact, Final Fantasy III and Mario & Luigi 2 - yes, a freaking Mario RPG. They could have made it bigtime by being out there early and giving the game good promotion, but instead we had to wait three years after Suikoden V to see the next game. Konami... try not to be so scared and overcautious of new platforms next time, okay?
