I'm late again with the new list. I will post my predictions with the list because I can't be online again later in the evening.
Quarter Final
Men's Singles
Roger Federer (SUI) - Fernando Gonzalez (CHI)
Gael Monfils (FRA) - David Ferrer (ESP)
Ernests Gulbis (LAT) - Novak Djokovic (SRB)
Nicolas Almagro (ESP) - Rafael Nadal (ESP)
I know that Federer will win but from now on I will pick his opponent ;-). It was a tough choice between Gulbis and Djokovic, but I go with Djokovic, he's more experienced. I also think that it will be the hardest game for Nadal yet and I think it will be a close result, not such easy games he had to play until now.
Women's Singles
Dinara Safina (RUS) - Elena Dementieva (RUS)
N.N. - N.N.
Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP) - Jelena Jankovic (SRB)
Patty Schnyder (SUI) - Ana Ivanovic (SRB)
Well, I'm glad that I predicted the Sharapova - Safina match correct :D. From what I've seen of Sharapova's matches in this tournament she didn't play very well and it would have been a big surprise for me if she had won. I pick Suarez Navarro because Jankovic had some problems in the matches before. Schnyder shouldn't be a big challenge for Ivanovic so I think Ivanovic won't have any problems to win.
I will post the results of Round 4 tomorrow. |

Some great matches in the 4th round there!
Roger Federer (SUI) - Fernando Gonzalez (CHI)
Gael Monfils (FRA) - David Ferrer (ESP) <-- I am very happy Monfils won, but this is as far as he goes, sadly. I'm sure the French crowd is surprised he's made it so far!
Ernests Gulbis (LAT) - Novak Djokovic (SRB) <-- should be a great match.
Nicolas Almagro (ESP) - Rafael Nadal (ESP) <--- I agree, VF. Almagro is a fantastic clay court player-- of course, Rafa is the best clay court player. So it will be interesting. Especially with how badly he dominated Verdasco, who was supposedly a clay court player as well.
Dinara Safina (RUS) - Elena Dementieva (RUS) <-- Safina has been on a roll the entire clay court season.
Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) - Kaia Kanepi (EST)
Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP) - Jelena Jankovic (SRB) <-- Navarro is great on clay, but Jelena is the perfect style of player for Roland Garros, it would be a shame to see her go out.
Patty Schnyder (SUI) - Ana Ivanovic (SRB) <-- I'm predicting Ivanovic to win her first Grand Slam here. _________________

Whoa ... it's so close, Gil :o .
I couldn't watch the games today, only saw the results and I'm surprised that Djokovic's result was so close and that Rafa beat Almagro that easy. I really didn't expect that. The Federer and Ferrer game tomorrow will be very interesting, too bad that I can't watch them again :(. |

I am very, very, very much looking forward to the Djokovic versus Rafa semi-final. I think Djokovic will definitely be a the hardest match yet for him. It's a match that should be championship quality.
Rafa's crushing Almagro just shows how talented he is. I am curious to see how Djokovic does against him-- I'm very tempted to predict the Djokovic upset for the semis!
Djokovic has a lot of respect for Gulbis as an upcoming player-- so it seems as though that respect is well deserved. I think we'll be seeing Gulbis rising in the rankings soon. _________________

Semi Finals
Men's Singles
Roger Federer (SUI) - Gael Monfils (FRA)
Novak Djokovic (SRB) - Rafael Nadal (ESP)
Women's Singles
Dinara Safina (RUS) - Svetlana Kuznetzova (RUS)
Jelena Jankovic (SRB) - Ana Ivanovic (SRB)
When I came home today I watched the rest of the third set and the fourth set of the game Monfils vs Ferrer and I was very very surprised about Ferrer. I think he was tired that he played that bad. So now I hope that Monfils will play AWESOME in the Semi Final. ^^ But I think the more interesting game will be Djoko - Rafa. I should stay at home tomorrow instead of going to the office .... .... .... |

My power has been out for the past two days and has only now come back on, so I was unable to make predictions for the womens semi finals. :( (I would have picked Safina and Ivanovic, too!)
I will make my mens predictions now, though. :)
Roger Federer (SUI) - Gael Monfils (FRA)
Novak Djokovic (SRB) - Rafael Nadal (ESP)
I think it would be incredibly interesting if it ended up being a Monfils v. Djokovic final, though! _________________

Oh okay, I was already worrying if something has happened.

Indeed!! I'm hoping that Monfils will play the final because Federer played very bad in the first set vs Gonzalez, maybe he's nervous ;-). I think the other semi final will be over 5 sets and it will be a close result. I wouldn't mind watching a final Djokovic vs Monfils, I would mind to watch a final Federer vs Djokovic ^^.
Edit: The Semi Finals are finished - I couldn't watch them . So here are the predictions for the finals:
Men's Singles
Roger Federer (SUI) - Rafael Nadal (ESP)
Women's Singles
Dinara Safina (RUS) - Ana Ivanovic (SRB) |

I thought I'd be able to watch the recording of the semis on TV today, but they're not showing them! :(

Ivanovic got nervous. So did Safina. I didn't get to see it, but I hear it wasn't nearly as good a match as the Serbian battle in the semis, or the amazing comebacks that Safina had against Sharapova and Dementieva. I'm glad Ivanovic won her first Grand Slam-- I have a feeling Jankovic isn't far behind.
I will be watching tomorrow's final live, Gaby. Care to join me?
edit:
"You have to be nuts to think that Federer can't win-- but you must be crazy if you think he will win."
Haha. It should be fun. It would be really something to see Roger win Roland Garros and then see Rafa win Wimbledon. XD _________________

Both, Ana and Dinara, were very nervous. Safina had some good break chances but didn't make the points and Ana played better so she deserved the Cup.
I will watch the Men's final live, I'm already nervous - lol. Bjoern Borg said that Roger has good chances to beat Rafa, since he had no real chance to beat him in the past years. So I think it will be very interesting and exciting. It's also an interesting thought that Roger wins Paris and Rafa Wimbledon. But I would prefer that Rafa wins Paris and Roger Wimbledon because it's a far better thought that Paris is still the Grand Slam Roger can't win. :D |

Awesome. It was fun. I'm a bit sad that Roger lost, but oh well.
We're going to play another game, but in a bit different style for Wimbledon in 2 and a half weeks. So anyone else who wants to join in, please do! :) _________________
