But for me... I'd say this is one blasted wonderful forum. Enjoy it very much.
The balance is almost perfect... it's comfortable for those who are suited to be here, and uncomfortable for those who are not suited to be here. That's true with any place though, and if you don't like it, nobody stops you from leaving either.

Well, it would be nice if we had a handbook which told us what we can and cannot think, but usually common sense should suffice. I mean, it's ludicrous to walk on eggshells in fear of offending someone just for saying "I prefer PCs because I don't particularly like laptops." If someone got offended over that, then there's something seriously wrong with them. So... some things which I think would be best to avoid doing:

Racial slurs - this should really be part of common sense.
Personal attacks - if you cannot stand someone, and they aren't a moderator or admin, just add them to your ignore list.
Religious attacks - that being, attacking someone's religion because it differs from your beliefs or you simply have a problem with the religion. Doing so will not help your case.

Those are just a few examples, but if people just post without trying to antagonize others or otherwise insulting their parentage, everybody should be able to get along. We're all human and make mistakes from time to time, it happens. So, just treat people how you would like to be treated and there shouldn't be any problems.
