holly crap, matt hughes actually lose. well congrats to george st pierre, he was able to beat the best welterweight in the world. but i will say this. matt hughes will easly come back after the george st pierre/matt serra title fight. since after all they both have one vicotry over each other.

Yep, they will definately have a rematch. If there is one thing that UFC loves, it is the rubber match. I have heard rumors of Hughes retiring after one more fight, considering he only has one left on his contract. I would assume that if he fights St. Pierre again and loses, that might be the end of his career.

Last night was one of the best PPV's I have seen in a long time, well excluding the Silvia/Monson fight. It is safe to say that Silvia has clearly become my least favorite fighter. His last two fights were the most boring 25 minute snorefests I have ever witnessed. Monson was outmatch by sheer size disadvantage, and the fight suffered greatly because of it.

O_o there gonna do a ufc ppv outside of las vegas or california, trully i don't see them doing that. but like i said matt hughes will get his rematch after the pierre/serra fight as long as pierre wins. or pretty much i think matt hughes will get his title rematch who ever wins that match.

yea it should be a great rematch both of them said they would like to fight each again on the post fight show and dana white said that they are trying to get the fight in canada barring and problems with the fights getting hurt or contract problems . white said they are trying to have fights all around the world if they can making ufc number one in the world of mma and reach people who wwant to see it live in there country but they got along road ahead of them to do it with out and problems . i hope they can because traveling to the usa all the time gets pretty costly after awhile just to watch the matches live.

pretty much ufc is number 1 in mma. hell is a whole lot better than watching boxing. ever since they started airing stuff on spike tv they have been going up. like a lot more people know about ufc that didn't know about it.

no there secind to pride fighting by the way the fight network about 20% behind on there rates to each other. i try to watch pride but i could not understand the what they were saying because it was all in japanese and try turn the sound off and still could not figure what was going on as then kept jumping around at what you are looking at from the fighters to the crowd to the corner guys so i just stop watching it all together. i hope they do take over number one spot that way pride will have start doing show in other english to compete with them.

yeah old matches just before they did the ultmate fighter shows on spike i like they are on there show and some of them have belts and they just leave and join ufc like they most have piss off the the king of the cage owners doing that leaving them a hole to fill and a new champion to be name after tourament hoping that the next guy if the belt does not jump ship on them too. but what can you do with ufc being a more high profile mma company and paying more money you there fighters. good for ufc bad for them.

UFC still doesn't pay a lot of money last time I checked, since one of the ways they can be profitable is to be tightfisted. Some fighters can make a bit of money, but most can't do too well financially. Of course, the pay is in line with what the fighter can command compared to others, and the UFC pays quite a bit more than smaller local promotions. Case in point: my brother fought in an MMA event in Indiana a few months ago, won, and got a couple hundred dollars. That probably didn't even cover his training and gear expenses. Then again, from what I can tell from the people I know, a lot of them train and fight as a hobby, not to make money. Still, if a better offer comes up, it will almost certainly be taken; after all, I don't hear anything bad about the UFC that I don't hear about the smaller promotions, so chances are the other difference is mainly the level of talent. Of course, I've seen some fighters there that could easily dominate their weight class in a larger promotion, but that's mostly true.

And yeah, Pride shows are available in English. Looking for the DVDs might be worth your time and money. Some of the fights are really good (They have their share of boring fights, but so does the UFC), and Bas Rutten's commentary and the interviews can be quite amusing. As a bonus, some of the fighter entrances are hilarious.

As for my actual fighting experience... I've trained some Judo, BJJ, and Karate, and took those quite seriously at the time, but training actively works badly for my schedule right now. Still, I at least know some of what to look for when watching the fights, or so I like to think...

oh really to bad it would have been cool if someone on this site made it to the big times oh well maybe you get some time to train again like you use to and thanks for the info about pride and ufc. i just watched ufc new show inside the ufc talks about injuries about upcoming fights and fighters and to dana white about what the ufc up to and were they like to go with it and who they are trying to get to fight for them. on the show they talk to serra and st pierre about there up coming fight. and can't wait for fght night live on spike tv dec. 13 sanchez vs riggs fight should be a real great fight. thats the only fight i know about so far hope the talk about more fights late on the show. and can't wait for the ppv too chuck vs tito fight on it and michael bisping vs eric schafer fight has been added to it now that they got bisping visa problem fixs.

Actually, my plans never really involved pro fighting, and probably never will. At most, I'd fight in a few grappling tournaments, but I've been to a few, and they're badly organized enough that... well, I don't feel like driving out to one only to learn that they got the directions wrong for the convention center, all the events are delayed 7 hours, and the scales are 10 pounds off, throwing me into a heavier weight class. Not my idea of fun, and that and keeping in reasonable shape are good reasons to train some of this stuff. Still, I'll probably end up posting about it if my brother somehow ends up fighting for Pride or UFC or something. I'm not holding my breath because he got a late start and all, but so did Randy Couture...

Sanchez vs. Riggs, huh? I certainly remember seeing Sanchez on The Ultimate Fighter, but I don't know so much about Riggs, not having ever seen him fight. I know he has a BJJ Blue Belt, but... with how that's structured, it's very important to know who the belt came from and how competent they are, and I have no idea about that. Judging from what his record looks like, though, Sanchez could probably submit him. I can't say for sure, though.

riggs use to fight in the heavy weight but drop down to welterweight to fight he fought matt hughes at ufc 56 but did not make the weight so they found in a none title matches which huges won and fought chris lytle at ufc 55 andivan salaverry at ufc 52 which was the show with chuck vs couture 2 fight. they say he's going to be sanchez toughest fight to date but they say that about all the guys he has fought so far so we will see if ture or not and if your brother makes it or not to pride or ufc would be up to him if he wants to deal with that kind of problems like you went thur but if he does make it great for him and hope to see him fight on tv or live. lets hpoe riggs vs sanchez fight lives up to what they are promoting up too be.
