Starting Phase 17, you can die. Fortunately it isn't parmenant, but the penalty is pretty tough.

How Death Can Be Achieved

There is a 50% chance you can die when your regiment is wiped out when your regiment's troop count is less than 1/10th of the enemy regiment's troop count.

For example, if Regiment A is wiped out when it has only 1 soldier when facing off against a regiment with 10000 soldiers, there is a 50% chance of death. To avoid death, regiment A would need at least 1000 soldiers.

What Happens When You Die

1) Your regiment training will drop to 0% (because everybody is dead, thus, all training is lost).

2) Regiment EXP will be slashed by 1/4th permanently.

3) Regiment type will be "Deceased" for one phase. Thus, if you die in Phase 17, you will be unusable during phase 18.

4) Deceased regiments don't get any regiment exp.

What happens if the regiment has zero experience? Do they go into negatives?

Hopefully this will only catch any "fodder" that nations throw out there...

Why would they go into negatives? 0x.25=0.

Well, you never know, Hawk! Maybe it goes down by ten thousand points! Oh, and I'm not at all honored by this.

I don't see why it would. If a nation is throwing out random inactive accounts with only a handful of posts (or none) to their name, then I doubt they care if they die. The only change would be that nations probably won't use active members as fodder.

Exactly. It just stops nations using actives in throwaway battles to gain a cheap 50 exp.

That's a good question and raises an important point. As others mention, this rule is being introduced to put an end to the activity of using "fodder" because although it's strategically clever when used effectively, it's a bit unrealistic when you see one person fighting against 100000 soldiers and then the winner still getting 100 regiment experience.

So, an addendum the the rule would be that when regiment exp is under 100 at the point of death, the death will be permanent. This would mean fodder with 0 regiment exp at the time of death will be permanently unusable.

For the phase in which they die, I take it?

Not sure this will put an end to the fodder practice, since most nations have plenty of no posters and such. Cool idea, though. Going to use a special Death Coin to decide people's fates? Sounds scary!

Ah a new amendment then! They will rise from the dead and start attacking the real citizens of the nation if there are too many in the graveyard? :-D

What about nations trying to use new members to get Regiment Experience, but just get unlucky. You know, like trying to claim a naval region but accidentally running into an unforseen Leviathan instead of the usual mer-kind. I'd hate to have a new active member who sees his/her first battle be slain and never to be used again because of this rule. Maybe another addendum of a certain number of away days as well? If this rule doesn't have this addendum, we'll not see too many new units being tried out in battle.

A good example of this in TNL would be Andarc or Jinx. Both are active users, but have no Regiment Experience yet. What incentive do we now have to use them and make them better if they have a chance of dying? We'd love to use them in a battle, but if they die, then their entire Suikox experience could be ruined.
