How many characters have been reused through out the series not counting the games not released in america? its really interests me since there are alot of references to Morgan from S1 in S5 during the gladiator competition. _________________ "There is a magical operation of maximum importance: The initation of a new aeon. If you check suikosource.com's character list, it has a chart for each character indicating which installments of the series they have appeared in. _________________

Miss Lilly Pendragon was present in Suikoden II and III, although she played a non-SOD role in S2.
Ted was in IV and I.
Stallion in I and II.
Sasarai in II and III.
Maximillian in I and II.
That's all I can think of that Buff forgot. _________________

Varkas, Alex, Grenseal, Liukan, Tesla and Eileen also appear in both SI and SII, though their roles are very minor. To see some of these in SII you may need to load saved data from SI.
Retso appears in both SII and SV. Shun Min appears in both too, but is only mentioned a couple of times in SII. |

I love the S1 cast the most i just wish they had morgan in it. the story seems to state they shiped him off only a few years before the game began. _________________ "There is a magical operation of maximum importance: The initation of a new aeon. When you say "Alex," you mean "Alen."
Alex is the treasure-hunter / innkeeper dude from Suikoden 2. |

I re-played Suikoden 1 recently, and I noticed that when Hero McDohl first meets Morgan in the Qlon Temple, Morgan tells him that he's been blind since birth. This would indicate that the gladiator referenced in Suikoden 5, who's eyes were gouged out because he had been unbeatable, couldn't have been Morgan.
Unless, of course, Morgan was lying to McDohl at the Qlon Temple.
Konami probably just got sloppy with their facts though, and forgot what Morgan said in Suikoden 1. |

Morgan indeed lied, and Konami didn't get sloppy about that. Morgan purposely lied to McDohl to hide the fact that he was a gladiator from Falena. To say that he was blinded from birth would be a good way to fool McDohl. _________________

Although we can't really find a motive for him to do that. :( |

My memory about Suikoden V's reference was a bit hazy (forgive me, it has been a long time since I played it and I hate Shoon), but if I'm not mistaken, it was said that the blind gladiator (Morgan) escaped Queendom of Falena. So for me, the lie was made so that everyone would think that he died on the sea rather than surviving and lived in Scarlet Moon Empire.
I could be wrong, of course. _________________

I seem to remember something along those lines too. Morgan escaped, and more than likely lied, so people wouldn't know he's a fugitive from the Queendom. _________________ Be awed by our prowess!
