So my mom said that when I return home for the summer after school ends (which will be middle of may) she will allow me to get a new puppy =D

Since my first dog basically is my sister's dog now and became a traitor!!
after I left for college and started dorming my dog started sleeping in my sister's room and seems to like her more now =/

So I gets a new one!

..it was a golden retriever by the way

anyways I have been looking into what new kind of dog I want

I was thinking either

1. beagle
2. jack russel terrier
3. Husky

Anyone have experience with these dogs or have suggestions which types of dogs I might like?

(dogs similar to a golden retriever I guess since I did like that dog a lot and still do)

I always thought it would be cool to have a husky. They look nice and they're generally smart dogs.

only dogs i have experience with is a yellow lab and a bulldog. bulldog's are messy. lab dogs are good and playful. don't remember what it was like when it was a puppy since we got it the day i was born. since i'm not a dog person the only ones i perfer is a lab. but it's all going to depend on what you like.

I've never had a dog, and I probably won't ever have a god, I'm more of a cat person. However, I do really love beagles. I think beagles are really cute. ^^ Huskies are also cute, but they're bigger too-- bigger dogs are harder to take care of. I'd go with a beagle, if I were you.

If you are going for a husky, they shed a lot. Aside from that, they are great dogs. I usually tell people to befriend big dogs, but that's just my own personal bias. By the way, you may want to consider a Malamute. They look even more like wolves and are very loyal. The downside? From what I hear, they think of themselves as Alpha dogs and generally don't like others.

Basically, if you can put up with the overpowering hairballs under the couch as well as their somewhat demanding personalities, huskies and mals are awesome dogs.

Anywho, beagles are pretty loud and are very hyper for a few years. If you can handle that, you're golden.

I have a golden retriever whom I have raised since he was 2-months old. However, after reuniting with my mom, his loyalty varies depending on his mood. You still like goldens. Why not consider getting another one?

Huskies are known to be whiners. I have a huskey-elkhound mix, and when he was young, he whined alot. But he grew out of it, by the age of 3 or so.

I'm not sure what you're looking for physically, I like swimmers and atheletic dogs myself with a medium strong build. So Elkhounds are my favorite. But Chessie Bay Retrievers are amazing dogs like Golden's but without the hip problems.

Why not consider getting another one?

I dont know, I just think I want something different and with 2 golden retrievers in the house would that be a problem?

What am I looking for physically

Nothing in particular just a dog that would like running with me and something that is playful

My girlfriend has one of those and that thing is hyper! Unless you want to put up with a very hyper (and likely annoying) dog, I wouldn't suggest that one.

I'd go with the husky, but I'm biased. I love big doggies. :D

I've never had a dog, well I have but it was for a short amount of time. My dad wanted to give it away because "it bit my sister?" she got scratched by his nails is all. He liked playing so yeah. I never even found out what type of dog he was, I knew he was a mutt though. But if I could have a dog again, I'd go with a golden retriever. Huskies are cool too.

Ya know...we had a jack Russel for a while. Tonberry is right. That dog never did calm down. even when it slept it was HYPER. Like...Hyper up on all sorts of sugar. So, yeah...Unless you feel you can handle a dog that will demand constant attention...I'd say steer away from jack russels.

You won't have trouble with two Golden's in the house. A family friend has 5 of them, and they get along well. They have a very good family/pack mentality.

that's cause they live together. even cats and dogs can get along good if they live together. it was like that when i was little. hell the cats even ate the dog food.

I always quite liked Labradors - loyal, not too aggressive and a man's best friend! I really have no idea about the three breeds you've mentioned though to be brutally honest. You shouldn't really get a new dog because your other one has "abandoned" you for your sister, you should really just try to get your old dog back...

well, you know there are always mutts. did your dog come from a good breeder or a petstore?

I like the look of shiba inu dogs, they look like foxes almost, but they don't sound like an easy breed, being aloof and hunting dogs, it sounds like a challange.
