Discussion or questions about teleportation in suikoden...

Now we all know Viki specialises in teleportation, and can even teleport objects and people and also move through time.

But there are also quite a number of characters who can teleport in Suikoden. For example, the magical characters. We see true rune bearers teleporting such as Windy, Leknaat, Luc, Yuber. But these true rune barers are also more magically prone in a sense.

There are also non true rune bearers, but magically prone characters who can teleport, such as Crowley, Mazus, Sarah. So is teleportation merely an art that people who study magic master as well? And is it just limited to magic studying people? Are all true rune bearers able to teleport?

Also, Neclord is seen teleporting as well. Are vampires able to teleport? Or did he manage to do that because of the Moon Blue(invert this) rune?

And then comes S3. In S3, the battle animations for all the "magic" characters such as Piccolo, Sasarai, Estella didn't walk or run. Instead, they disappeared and reappeared, albeit, teleported. This kind of messes things up. Does it mean that teleportation is a simple art that magic using people learn and master?

Then comes the ninjas. Do they actually have a special teleporting method unique to ninjas? Kage, Sasuke and Mondo were seen disappearing in S2. Is that a transportation method similar to teleporting? Or is that merely an extreemly fast movement pace? I doubt the latter because Kage was cornered in a room with Jowy, and i cannot see fast movement as fading away from the spot...

Finally, there's Sydonia... His method of movement... What exactly is it? Its not magical, and he don't seem to posess ninja skills as well... Can we conclude that its a unique method that he came up with?

Yeah... Discuss...

EDIT: *Glares at Sarsadmin's word filter for Sierra's True rune*

Coincidentally, I read this just a few moments ago on SARS:

Quote:
...and posesses the strange ability of "The Art of Far Moving," which allows him to teleport short distances. This power is not due to any rune or magic, and is inherent to Sydonia.

even albert who can also summon monsters (presumably the same or similar technique used to summon yuber) so i suppose its not a hard thing. But i also assume it takes a good amount of your energy as sarah is unable to teleport herself and yuber at one point because she used up energy. so meh.

I think it's just another form of magic that can be used by anyone in the Suikoden world. I doubt there is anything special about teleporting that would limit it''s use to true rune bearers or hermits that spend their entire lives practicing magic.

If teleportation is directly linked to the true runes, then why none of the main characters could teleport in thier respective games? Well, one could argue that they just got their runes in their respective games, but this does not apply to Geddoe, yes? He should be able to teleport under this theory, but he clearly could not.

I suppose that it's a special technique that needs learning. This does not apply to Viki, of course.

Well, it is possible he chose not to just as he chose not to reveal the fact that he was the Bearer of the True Lightning Rune but then again Wyatt Lightfellow was the Bearer of the True Water Rune with the members of the Howling Voice Guild/Roaring Brotherhood after him and he didn't seem to have used any teleportation magic to get himself away from Harmonia.

I believe Albert did not teleport... All the times he did, it was with the help of Sarah. I believe she was the one doing all the teleporting for the group. But of course, we've seen that Yuber and Luc are capable of doing that.

I'm thinking, even if teleporting isn't linked to True Rune directly, it is probably easier for true rune bearers to eventually learn how to teleport.

Then again, teleporting might just be sorcery since we don't get to see Joshua teleport as well. Still, there must be a reason why we only get to see magic users teleport, and not just any true rune bearers.

And well, what about ninjas?

Well, assuming that it is magic, wouldn't it be natural for true rune bearers (most of who have at least above average magic prowess, as true runes are so magically inclined) to be able to learn blinking magic faster than your average person.

Or maybe....they can just magically teleport because they choose to.

No...that doesn't work.

Like Yuber had said about Sarah. Drained of magical energy thus couldn't teleport. I would figure that would solve dilemma.

Well but Sarah usually had to teleport the entire group, so i suppose it would be harder for her... And i think teleportation wouldn't take much energy, its just that Sarah was completely exhausted at that time.

Now will someone comment about the movement of Ninjas? Is that teleportation unique to ninjas? Or is that merely unfathomably fast movement?

Well, that may be true, but... Kage was in the corner of a sealed room... If its not teleporting, i cannot see how he could have left the room like that...
