The mercenary band of Arenegeth, Lonelion, and Hayashi Ujitsuna head into Northern Nagarea, guided by their "quarry," Bartholomew after they captured him at Lordlake. After Bartholomew pleaded with them to let him travel to Nagarea to help alleviate a plague using the special Kanakan rune, the mercenaires agreed to take a detour--resulting in their treacherous journey across the rugged mountains south of Falena.

Fortunately, Bartholomew knew his way, and they avoided peril after peril that lay in their path into the isolated nation of the Theocracy of Nagarea--a nation that is unknown to the outside world due to its political and geographical isolation.

After weeks of travel, the four, along with their soldiers, finally cross into Nagarean territorry. However, just as they establish camp, Bartholomew informs the mercenaries that they have already attracted attention of some bandits that take residence in Northern Nagarea...

After defeating the bandits, the party continues south, being led by Bartholomew. After a few days, they arrive at a town in the midst of a vast, blighted field. It's streets reeked of dead flesh, and many people wandered the streets, afflicted by some unknown disease. Bartholomew warns the rest to not touch anything, as they may contract the disease.

After telling the troops to establish camp afar, Bartholomew leads the three mercenary leaders to a house where they are introduced to the town's elder. Although unafflicted by the disease, the elder seemed very frail, likely from exhaust. Bartholomew speaks in Nagarean to the elder, and then the party is taken to a separate room. In the room slept a woman, and Bartholomew called out what sounded like a name--"Dana." He immediately used the "Cup Rune," kneeling down and concentrating his power into the rune. A green light enveloped the woman, and it seemed as if a gray mist evaporated into the air, followed with a blinding flash. After a while, it seemed like her skin was regaining a healthier complexion, much to Bartholomew and the Elder's joy. However, Bartholomew informed the rest that they will keep an eye to see progress of "Bartholomew's wife" until they break the news to the rest of the people in town.

The next day, Dana awakens. News travels fast, and by mid-morning, the elder's house is swarmed by hordes of people seeking to be cured. Bartholomew continues healing as many people as possible while the other mercenaires watch his determination in wonderment. However, after a week of healing rites, Bartholomew collapses after finishing the last patient in town. "He gave too much of his soul away," a runemaster in town said.

A few days later, Bartholomew awakens, and in a frail voice, chants a few words. The Cup Rune suddenly escapes from his right hand and forms into a rune crystal. He then whispers to Arenegeth, "my task is done, now you can have this back..."

Giving a silent nod, Arenegeth takes the rune crystal, bidding adieu to Bartholomew. His promise to Algernon de la Croix was fulfilled as long as he got the rune back, after all.

The three mercenary leaders then bead back the treacherous route they came, this time unbothered by bandits. After a month of travel, they reach Estrise, and a week of voyage took them back to La Mouette. There they handed the Cup Rune to Arthur de la Croix.

Arthur de la Croix is impressed with the work done by the mercs, and gives them the following as a reward:

1) The privilege to enter Kanakan at will (for advebtures, for example).
2) The privilege to challenge Roundier Haia to a duel, in which if they even as much as scratch Roundier Haia, they may be taught the ways of the "bladesinger." (requires adventure)
3) 1 bottle each of Brocéliande Rain (Royal Guard status when used in forest terrain - one use only)
4) 1 bottle each of Le vin de colére (Temporarily changes the regiment of the unit to Beserkers - lasts for entire phase)
5) Honorary citizenship within Kanakan (this is basically just a novelty).

Wow, interesting and best adventure so far in my opinion. And the list of rewards is impressive too. It'd be interesting to see how these rewards would affect the Suikox world in the future.

Good job, Vector Xthonic, and congratulations to Arenegeth, Lonelion, and Hayashi Ujitsuna (going from Wes[t] to Japanese[east], eh? lol).

Yes this was an amazing adventure, and I'd like to thank Vector Xthonic for it, thankyou! So we're now Kanakanians huh? Might buy a holiday home there, wine and sun! By the way, I have a question, do we each get to challenge Roundier Haia? Or is it once for the whole group?
