I think it's well deserved. I actually think the storyline is fantastic.

Well deserved award for V, after they got screwed over by two of the other bigger game review sources: Gamespot and Game Informers.

I was pretty pissed when the jerkoffs at gamespot included VP2 in the RPG section of their holiday shopping guide instead of V when V was rated higher and they were claiming to be "promoting a lesser known game..." more like sucking up to SquareEnix than anything else. Both of them left V out of any sort of yearly award, who knows why game informers only gave V a 7.5 when they gave IV a 8.75 but how the hell it was rated worst than grandia III to them is beyond me, and other than SH:FTNW(overrated), KH II(overrated), oblivian, FFXII and Disgaea 2 no other consol rpg scored higher from gamespot than V(I'm not gona call Marvel:UA a RPG), yet it wasn't even mentioned for any kind of award...

I am proud that our very underrated series was once again able to impress us and whoever did gave it a fair chance, as much as this underdog role with no respect gets me mad at times I'd much rather be a suikoden fan than any sucker that follows the big titles without cause.

I suppose that Gamespot either has inconsistent reviewers or just doesn't rate the games comparitively, jjrrs.

This is all just making me want that game to get here faster.

Yeah, ever since the X-play review of Suikoden V I couldn't watch X-play again. It really disapointed me to the fact I didn't trust there reviews anymore. This has certainly makes up for it. And the fact that they made suikoden V a runner up for best RPG of the year is fine by me aswell.

Did X-play gave Suikoden V a bad review?
Those suckers!

Most game reviewers today stick to those popular games and forgot that there are more better games around.

*sigh*

X-Play is just a bad show in general.

Shows on television about video games are bad in general, it's a rule of thumb, they don't know what they're talking about. It's also quite satisfying seeing Final Fantasy XII as a runner-up to Suikoden V. It's not as fulfilling seeing "Bully" as the closest contender.

Actually they gave it a decent review...I mean, they made fun of the loading times the entire review...and then threw in that it has an excellent plot and characters and stuff in like the last 20 seconds.

That's what X-Play does. They only concentrate on the negative. In Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou's review, they always talked about how long the title is and how it's such a bad thing and at the end they said it was an ok game. For Rule of Rose, they always brought up the part with the kids beating up a bunch of cats in a bag as humour, and it really wasn't funny; at the end, they said it was also an ok game.

Whatever.

By the sounds of it, they aren't trying to review it at all at X-play, rather trying to poke fun at whatever they cani n the game. I've never seen or heard of the show though.

Due to IGN finally giving Suikoden V some credit, the Japanese Suikoden V site now has some (frickin' sweet) bonus wallpapers to celebrate.

If 1230x1200 is okay for you you can get them here:
http://stormfist.blogspot.com/2006/12/suikoden-v-geography-backgrounds. html

If you need a different size you'll have to go to the official sites download section and go through some crappy flash thing:

Wow, those are nice wallpapers. They're so nice, I'm even using them right now! IGN should give Suikoden more awards (which it deserves a lot more compared to others). That way, we get more awesome wallpapers!
