Suddenly, Hyldevinde collapses. Iscalio runs up beside her, and sees a sickly purple dagger in her side. The Dagger of Pak Tor, laced with defoliating poison and having absorved Nirmolan's dark magic, rapidly disintegrates Hyldevinde.

Hyldevinde: Leader of Tinto, you must free my children...the gourd...

After she whispers those words, she disappears, only leaving behind her sword.


Authrom: Your purpose is done, Hyldevinde! The gourd is mine!

Authrom runs toward the gourd.

Repk Ennupp: No, the gourd is mine!

Repk Ennupp tackles Authrom. Ambushed, Authrom falls, and Repk Ennupp greedily grasps at the Sun Gourd.


Repk Ennupp: Yes! Now I am GOD! I will now be KAMUI OTOPSHI! I can feel the power!! The power!!! Wah!??

Repk Ennupp suddenly explodes into a bloody mess, and is simultaneously sucked into the gourd.


Authrom: Humph, idiot. A fitting end, neverthless.... An now... Raycisk Ar... Heh heh heh, ahahaha! We did it!

Raycisk Ar: Yes Authrom, our ancient plan-- finally realized. We have this human to thank, leader of Tinto.

iscalio looks at the two with a gaze demanding answers.

Raycisk Ar tears off his face, revealing the face of another man.
The man looks at iscalio, grimacing.


Shak Shain: I am Shak Shain. Thank you, leader of Tinto, for your help. Allow me to explain--

Shak Shain explains, "We have always hoped to gain the Sun Gourd for ourselves-- Authrom and I. It is a key to many powers--eternal life among other things. It is also a key into the world of light, a world free of suffering and filled with bliss--to which Nirmolan wished to lead all of his people.

Nirmolan always had an amazing talent in magic. We used him to harness the power of the gourd and to seal Hyldevinde into Pak Tor. We were certain Nirmolan will perish by the end of our conquest of Pak Tor, but we were wrong. Nirmolan was triumphant, and he harnessed the gourd's power. We wished to find ways to take the gourd from him, but his power was too absolute, and he had the loyalty of too many. Authrom and myself split our ways and bide our time.

Centuries later, Tinto "discovered" Makankuy. We were originally alarmed by this, as we tried to keep this land a secret to make sure the gourd does not fall into foreign hands. However, we decided we will let Tinto and Makanakuy have a little war so Nirmolan can be weakened, and so that Hyldevinde can be awakened by a third party to extract her vengeance.

Unfortunately, your nation didn't fare very well against Nirmolan's forces. Ati-Anyaka and Hui-Hui Teotoxl--both loyal to their people, were a thorn in my plan. I sent you a letter informing you of Makanakuy's weaknesses so you can have an easier time defeating us. I also orchestrated my own death by switching myself with poor Raycisk Ar. In his guise I also seduced Ati-Anyaka so that she would leave Makanakuy and join your ranks.

Everything worked well.

Hyldevinde was awakened under your banner, killing more of Nirmolan's loyal subjects... and Ati-Anyaka's defection caused Hure-Anpayaya to fall out of favor from Nirmolan. Leader of Tinto, I appreciate your efforts very much... and now, the gourd is in my hands.

Authrom shrieks, "Yes, it is victory after all these centuries!"

Authrom once again proceeds to the gourd. However, as he reaches to the gourd, something cuts through the wind--with a large thud, a two handed sword impales Authrom.
Gasping for air, Authrom reaches forward desperately; his thin sickly fingers tracing the curves of the sun gourd. He closes his eyes and lets out his last breath.

"So we were fooled." Hui-Hui Teotoxl reveals himself from behind a large grave along with Hure-Anpayaya. He draws his sword from the corpse of Authrom as he eyes the gourd wearily. "Truly something not fit for mortal use..."

"Yes, not for mortal use," Shak Shain replies, " out of my way, mortal."

Shak Shain points his finger at Hui-Hui Teotoxl and waves it aside. Hui-Hui Teotoxl is hurled to the side effortlessly, almost falling off of a cliff. Hure-Anpayaya runs to his side to tend to his wounds.

Shak Shain looks at iscalio, "Leader of Tinto, now you are all that stands between me and the gourd..."

iscalio takes Hyldevinde's sword and prepares for a duel!

A duel ensues at the edge of a cliff in Aya Sankha...

Shak Shain slowly steps backwards as he grabs at his mortal wound.

"Centuries of planning... lost to a mere mortal! You... leader of Tinto... I curse you... I was so close--to the gourd! The gourd!!" Shak Shain then falls off the cliff.

Hure-Anpayaya, kneeling beside Hui-Hui Teotoxl, speaks to iscalio.

"You have won, Makanakuy is no more. We are yesterday's people now, but one more task remians before true peace." His gaze shifts to the gourd.

"Remember the words of Hyldevinde, it is time we give her what she wished," he says.

Iscalio takes Hyldevinde's sword, Mystletainn. Walking over to the gourd he swings the sword at the shimmering artifact. The gourd shatters uncereoniously, losing is luminous light immediately. From within, three golden seeds pour onto the ground.

"Perhaps the elves in Saen can help you understand the use of these seeds, we have no interest in these cursed ancient magics..." Hure-Anpayaya says.

iscalio takes the seeds and keeps them in a leather pouch.

The surviving party rests for the day and convenes the next day to negotiate the official surrender of Makanakuy. Because Nirmolan has been killed, Hure-Anpayaya took the role of head of state. The meeting took place in Nirmolan's palance, but ended quickly with a total surrender of all Makanakuy land to the Tinto Republic. Hure-Anpayaya then said he will join his niece in the Tinto Republic. Many other Makanakuy commanders decide to join the Tinto Republic with the exception of Hui-Hui Teotoxl and Hui-Hui Ture.

"Where will you go, Tayamo?" Hure-Anpayaya asks.

Hui-Hui Teotoxl replies stoicly, "Sapnekur-- he is much like Shak Shain. I will find him, and stop him."

"Farewell, Tayamo. Perhaps we will meet again." Hure-Anpayaya says as he bids farewell to Hui-Hui Teotoxl.

Hure-Anpayaya then kneels in front of iscalio, "I am now at your service, Makanakuy is no more. Although many of our young have died in this war, and somehow an old bone like myself remains, the people of Makanakuy wish for peace under your protection, and I will willfully work under your banner."

Makanakuy has been defeated!
