According to palgn the Oceania release (Aus+NZ) has been set back to Oct 6th (from Sept 29)

Anyone amazed at the setback.... has obviously never bought a game here before. :P

I still can't understand why PAL releases of Suikoden games get so delayed. I mean its not like there's not a fan base big enough in that region to give Konami sizable sales of the titles.

I understand how Europe can since theres not only the region specifics that need to be tinkered with but however many languages also. I dont see how theres such a discrepency between english translations though, as effectivly Oceania can use the same games and just swap the region of the dvd (as was done with Tactics & FF Anthologies) yet consistently theres a nice gap between releases in Europe and releases in other PAL regions.

I really hate the current food chain. =/

The funny thing is that even the UK release get delayed. I mean I understand there's a slight linguisitic difference between UK English and US English, but come on it can't be that much that localization for a UK release takes months if not years.

They don't localise for each indivdual country. And they certainly don't rewrite the script for original English.

They'll translate it into every major European language, give you the option to choose when you boot up the game and distrubted the game Europe-wide.

A release of a Suikoden game in the UK takes just as long as it too will be translated into French, German, Spanish and so on.

Huzzah! I got it today! I was expecting it to come tomorrow, so imagine my surprise and delight.

I'm loving it so far. I just have to get used to everyone calling Georg, "George"... It seems so wrong.

Anyway, it's nice to finally get to see what I was missing out on for all these months.

I was hoping that wthis really wasn't so, but of course gpstore had confirmed it. Man I'm pissed off. They honestly couldn't have timed it much worse. Instead of having the last 9 days of the holidays to play it, I have 2 days, which will be shorter than the earlier week for me. Then I've got important school stuff so I'll be playing a tiny bit at a time. Man, talk about putting me in a bad mood, and it'd be bad enough if it was delayed in Europe aswell, but they get it and we're kept waiting. The only good thing is the SW2 hasn't been delayed so I won't be completely bored for that week. I'm still in a really bad mood. Man, I'd go Hulk right now if I could...

beep beep beep beep beep. that's pretty much my feelings. what I don't understand is that in early August they were stocking the back of the store with Kingdom hearts 2, the discs and instruction booklets, and covers were all being sorted, and then, they don't release it until the end of september. What the hell practice is that? This better not be happening with suikoden at my local store, or else the guy who serves me most of the time is going to be emasculated with my bare hands.

Yeah i went in to gamesrush and confirmed the change, and then had quite the discussion with the staff regarding how many titles actually get delayed and the theory that gaming companies are like monkies, in the whole random throwing of fecal matter towards the general public.

Im semi curous to se if JB Hi Fi would import the European version when its out since last i was in there there were probably 40% European titles in stock.

JB hi-fi: NO. No Suikoden V.
EB: Suikoden V, even though I pre-ordered. NO, not released.
GameTrader: Suikoden V? Nope.

TODAY is October 6th. So what is going on?

GameTrader said: 13th of October

EB told me: 17th of October!

and I told them in my head (*BEEP*x100)

I am so upset today, to put it lightly.
Please direct me somewhere I can kill something. ^^

Atari of Australia still have a release date of the 6th of October, so that's a very strange circumstance. Perhaps in a few days, they'll receive an order of them...

Well, down here in New Zealand gpstore now says the 13th, so I check Gamestation online, 13th and then gamesman 18th!! I'm so frustrated. It had better arrive on the 13th, if gpstore changes the date again (for about the fourth time) I will fly to Auckland and eat them all. Every last one. And now I can't play it in the holidays, it has to weekend and after school squishing in time. It'll arrive Friday morning, which means I have a full day of school with it at home. That day's going to be so much fun...

Atari have sweet didly squat to do with the distribution of Suikoden in Aus, there is a Konami of Australia in NSW and QLD though they are prodominantly an arcade machine vendor.

Funny story, not so much funny because i was banned form the store, but i ended up arguing with a sales clerk over his apparant suikoden 3 release and lack of knowledge (its all good now cause he got the fired) but from that point on i have taken what an EB employee has pulled up on his computer as complete bollocks, because only rarely does Eb actually employ people who know what the hell theyre on about. (like that good lookin chick who talked about dawn of war and made me fall on my ass in astonishment) anywho, down to what ive found.

-Gamspot have a revised release of October 13th,
-Absolute Playstation's australia page has a release date of Oct 12,
-PALGN havent updated their release list,
-Gamesrush are so far up Blockbusters... ehem that they've completely forgotten that theyre supposed to be the one selling games of the 2,
-Konamis Oceania page is obviously run by monkies as apparantly they need a konami europe and oceania to relay the same exact information even though its incorrect for the 2 regions, I SMELL HATE MAIL!!!
-Gamehead still have Oct 6
-quikshop, prolly the most obscure of the group has a relase date of the 13th for $76.95

since the others cna be googled quite easily with little trouble i'll just give ya quikshops suikoden 5 page as the site is poorly made and loads like hughhefner without the pills.

quikshop
