The original one was on SNES. Even though it was in Japanese the menu was in English so I played through it a few times. Very good game.

I still can't believe that took us so long. Okay, here's the next RPG

Clue #1: You rely heavily on various items.
Clue #2: There's three in the series, but only this one has made it to the U.S.
Clue #3: The game has some very deep dungeons.

Is it Legend of Mana? A lot of items are needed there... But maybe the dungeons aren't that deep...

How about Star Ocean? Oh wait... you have that already in the US...

I'm just so clueless... aybe someone will get it. But maybe another hint may help! :D

Hmm, I want to say Final Fantasy Legend, but apparently FF Legend 2 was not released in the US but FF Legend 3 was...any how with human characters you really need items especially since they do not level up, and you need to purchase stat based items to raise your HP/Strength/Agility and so on...

And at least there are only three games in that series...(The FF 'Legend' series that is). I don't know about deep dungeons though since I never really played the game that far... but hey it is worth a shot since I am currently playing this game right now... what a coincidence. (I am in a bit of an old school/retro gameplay mode...)

No, all three of the FF Legend games were released in the U.S.. In fact, they were ONLY released in the U.S. as they are game hacks of games from the Saga series.

And to clarify, you use item in the games much more than in the games mentioned so far.

Clue #4: Some of the items do bad things. But you might end up using one anyway, if you use it before you identify it.

Is it Chocobo Dungeon?
I am not sure how many there are, it's just a guess.

No.

You can change your class, but not until you beat the game.

well I'm stumped, some of the clues almost sound liek "sword of mana" but then again, it says your class changes with leveing up. we have a "new game plus" type of instance here.

Dang, maybe no one here has played it. I'll post one more set of clues to make it obvious, and if you still don't get it, I'll just tell ya.

It's for to PS1
The main character is overweight
There is no world map and there's only one town.

It was a very unpopular game in the Staes, but I had hoped at least someone in the Suikoden comunity had played it. It's one of my favorite RPGs.

Since no one has posted the next clue, I think I will put one up.

Clue 1: If you help kill the innocent, your best friend will eventually join you.

Clue 2: It has an incredibly long dungeon with many characters that have died inside of it.

Clue 3: It was the second of three games to be released, but it is the third going by the storyline.
