a tv show that sounds similar to suikoden

could this show have anything to do with suikoden?

too Bad it deals with spaceships and galaxys!! But it does seem like it has a suikoden feel to it !! Since it is a civil war and etc. . .

Nope, it isn't similar to Suikoden at all. The basic story is that when he was young, Jinto's (the main character) planet was conquered by the spacefaring race: the Abh. (The Abh are genetically engineered humans, with a lifespan at least twice that of a normal human, and are distinguished by their blue hair and youthful appearance) As a result of a deal made during the surrender, President Rock Lin (Jinto's father) became an Abh nobleman and ruler of the planet. Jinto, due to this course of action, became their prince.

He was then taken from his homeworld to learn about the Abh, all of which ocurrs off screen, and the main story takes place seven years after his planet was conquered. During all his time learning the Abh's history; culture and language, Jinto had never met a real Abh, until he meets Lafiel, who escorts him to the battle cruiser Gosroth.

The description on the page does better to explain the plot of the show, but Crest of the Stars and its follow-up series Banner of the Stars and Banner of the Stars II deal with the conflict between the Humankind Empire Abh and the United Mankind, a conflict which Lafiel doesn't expect to see resolved within her lifetime.

I recommend it if you are looking for a good anime. Now is the best time to pick it up, since the complete collections have been released, making it much more affordable than picking up each individual volume.

Seems VAGUELY similar, in my opinion, but not too close. Looks like a damn good anime though.

You have to remember that Genso Suikoden is loosely based on an old Chinese novel. So other people can make characters based on those characters, but they don't necessarily have anything to do with the games.

I would suggest looking into the NES Suikoden games, by Koei, but they're all in Japanese. (Except one English version that came out. I forget the title, or what system.) I've not played them, myself, but I think they're more like the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms games.
