Super mario World
That one game alone was all you needed.
Megaman X along with Starwing, Legend of Zelda and others made it the more desirable not just grapjics but with the gurantee that gameplay would be just as good. |

Sega only had two good games on it. Phantasy Star VI and Shining Force. Super Nintendo had a ton of great games, like Lufia II, Super Mario RPG, Bahamut Lagoon, Breath of Fire I and II, Earthbound.. the list goes on and on! _________________ Be awed by our prowess!

I'd have to go with Super Nintendo as well.......
Even though I liked Genesis for Altered Beast and Golden Axe...and a few others that I can't recall at the moment....
Just looking at our Super Nintendo game collection can tell you that

I never bought a Sega Genesis, so i have to go with Super Nintendo by default. I loved my Super Nintendo. Some of my favorite memories are the Street Fighter II tournaments that my friends and i used to have. Good times. _________________

Most people were pretty young at the time, so it was either one or the other for them. I went through both (Genesis first, then sold it to buy a SNES) and I'd probably pick the SNES. Sonic was amazing, as was Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Shinobi, but the SNES had most niche markets covered with Super Metroid, Zelda, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger, Mega Man, all the Mario games (don't forget Kart or RPG) and Donkey Kong! Good childhood memories! |

And the best thing is you can get most of those aforementioned classics on the Wii as VC downloads. Modern technology rocks.
Between the SNES and Megadrive (Genesis). SNES wins hands down. Many SNES games had long lasting playability whereas I found most Megadrive games to be a lot more shallow. _________________
