Wall + Firefly (plus Strikeback) on a weak character might be okay,, but i would completely prefer to replace Wall with something like Boost, and give the character Eyeball Rings so they heal every time they attack.

Equilibrium Rune is indeed useless in this game because the Turtle Rune prevents unbalance and everything else. Equilibrium Rune <<< Turtle Rune.

Condemnation Rune is subpar. You get it pretty late in the game when you probably already have compiled some upper-tier elemental runes that outclass it. If they had Darkness Rune it probably would have over-shadowed Condemnation as well.

they do need to give the Fire Sealing / Water Sealing crap more purpose. how about it turns your character into a Fire-based character.. so attacks are fire-elemental and do extra damage, and maybe it should double your fire magic output. If they do this, they could create this type of rune for all elements (only can equip to 1 location so no overlap) and make it a very useful rune in every game.

it's true that battles don't really last long enough for status effects to make an impact in this game. however i am glad to see that they added new effects such as fire/ice attacks causing "burn" and lightning/earth attacks stunning or unbalancing enemies.. that does give the attack spells more value because it's a free extra status effect. perhaps they should upgrade runes/spells that try to just add poison or make someone sleep provide additional benefits.. like Wind of Sleep might heal your party a little or damage the enemy some.. Poison Rune.. i dunno, do extra damage?

The condemnation rune is attained during the Alhazred recruitment side quest. This takes place in the first third and so it's not quite so immediatley obsolete.
