I must say that I wasn't too keen on the first movie when I heard about it but when I did finally saw it on dvd I surprised myself by enjoying it. National Treasure was like a popcorn movie but with caramel. Now here's the upcoming sequel due for release in a couple weeks. The supporting cast seem to have gotten better this second time aruond with Helen Mirren, Ed Harris and Bruce Greenwood joining in on all the fun.

| I was weary of the first flick, but enjoyed it when my wife and I finally sat down to watch it. Since then, I was sorta hoping they would make a sequel. I enjoyed the characters, especially the FBI guy. |

Yeah, the first movie was cool to watch. It's a Nicholas Cage movie, where he's not trying (and failing) at being an action hero. That and Diane Krugger is tasty.
I thought it was just a good adventure movie. Sort of a modern day Indiana Jones, just, as Tullaryx put it, with a heavy dose of sugar.

they said they were aiming along those lines, wanted it to be like indiana jones but still different in ways.

I recall enjoying this movie back when I first watched it. It was the type of role that I think Nicholas Cage does well in. As was stated, he's not the super/action hero type, this is the sort of thing that he's much more suited for. Since I hate having trailers jammed down my throat, and I'll likely see more of this than I care to when it gets closer to being released, I'll pass on watching the trailer. I will likely go watch this when it comes out though.
