[Phase 4] Grassland vs. Harmonia at Mountain Pass [Concluded]

Phase 4: Turn 1 - Grasslands vs. Harmonia at the Mountain Pass

As the Harmonian army marched towards the Grassland territorry of Mountain Pass, they encountered a solitary figure standing on the path. The figure called out in a ghastly voice that sent shivers down the spines of the soldiers, "None shall pass!"

The figure, mounted on a black horse and clad in black full plate continued, "I am the leader of the mercenary band, 'Der Trauerzug.' Defeat me in a duel, and this turn of war shall go to Harmonia. Lose and the turn will go to Grassland!"

After some discussion, Harmonia replied with a refusal.

"So be it, we shall meet on the field," the leader of Der Trauerzug swiftly galloped away.

Seeing that their leaders refused the duel, some soldiers left the harmonian ranks.:

After that incident, Harmonia continued to march, finally arriving at the end of the Mountain Pass. As expected, they were greeted by the Grassland army. Arrows started raining on them, launched by another mecrenary band, the Razor Wind, led by Sadness. Her 1821 archers rained arrows on the Haromian troops, but the well-trained infantry of Angelus Silverberg, numbering 11724, shielded the Harmonian army from the hail of arrows. A followup rush against the mecenary archers completely decimated them. The mercenaries ran into the ranks of Grassland troops, tripping over them and causing tremendous chaos.

The Hot Ice grinned as he saw the Grassland army in utter chaos.
He ordered his The Eastside Boyz to commence attack. The 24475 magicians of the Eastside Boyz took their positions against the Grassland army, chanting their spells. However, the confusion that seemed to have preoccupied the Grassland army suddenly ceased, and archers popped up from their midst like a tidal wave.

The Grassland archer captain, Cyrano, ordered his 8192 archers to launch a volley. The Harmonian magicians, positioned too close to the Grassland army, were defenseless against the arrows. 8192 Harmonian magicians fell to the arrows, and the spells of the remainder were disrupted. The Hot Ice curesed the Eastside Boyz's luck and retreated from the battlefield.

As the tide of battle turned, a low rumbling was heard from the flanks. A massive cavalry numbering 77110 troops was rushing down the sides of the mountain pass towards a Harmonian archer unit of 13644 led by Jurhael. It was the "Trauerzug" mercenary cavalry, clad in black armor on their black horses, each carrying horrid weapons.

"Angriff!!" The leader of the Trauerzug yelled as the cavalry smashed into the Harmonian archer unit. The archers managed to launch one volley, felling 6822 mercenaries, but beyond that, their fate was hopeless. The Trauerzug leader's inhuman bardiche lopped off enemy heads with each swing, and the battlefield was filled with screams of terror, the sounds of rending flesh, and breaking of bones. Soon, the battle was over with with every single one of Jurahel's archer unit killed brutally. Even Grasslanders covered their eyes in horror as they watched the handiwork of their temporary contractor.

Phase 4: Turn 2 - Grasslands vs. Harmonia at the Mountain Pass

Having suffered heavily in the last turn, Harmonia replenished its ranks with fresh soldiers from their immense reserves of troops. With their leader having retreated, the command was handed to one of their new officers. The officer was familiar with Grassland's terrains, and thus ordered Angelus Silverberg's infantrymen numbering 11724 to march forward.

Witnessing the massive forces advancing, Grassland infantry numbering 6853 under Red Fang rush to engage them. A fierce battle ensued where the curved blades of the Grasslanders mingled with the sharp halberd's of the Harmonian infatrymen. Men fell on both sides, but Harmonian numbers were too excessive for Red Fang to handle. Seeing that he has lost a significant number of his men, Red Fang retreated from the battlefield. Angelus Silverberg proclaimed victory, while only losing 3426 of his own men.

With Angelus Silverberg's victory, the Harmonian commander, Deloseth, emerged from behind the frontlines, leading his 6031 archers. With the confidence of knowing the terrain of his former nation, he marched forward. Soon he saw Grasslanders in the distance, archers numbering 8192 led by Cyrano. Deloseth halted and ordered his men to launch a volley.

Cyrano, seeing his former comerade, quickly ordered his men to disperse and launch a volley.

Arrows rained upon both sides--scores of archers fell. This was followed by a second volley, then a third volley.

Deloseth realized that his men was outnumbered. Having lost 4096 men, he decided to retreat.

Cyrano also lost 3015 men, but his archers were ready for more, as they sought to capture the defector. However, Cyrano stopped them, saying, "we do not want to get in the way of The Violent One.

As Deloseth retreated, he was informed that there was an ambush in the rear, and that the magician regiment led by OptimisticPessimist (numbering 10052) was defeated by a massive Grassland infantry unit led by a woman only known as "The Violent One." The Grassland infantry, numbering 15384, easily ploughed through the magicians.

By the time Cyrano arrived at the scene, all he saw were dead Harmonian mages.

Having seen enough, Deloseth ordered a full retreat of all Harmonian forces.
