I'll give you a clue, it was only on the SNES (so I guess if you did want to play it you would need an emulator)

If it's on the SNES, there's only one of them and it's really old, I'm gonna guess Earthbound, without even reading the thread before the above post.

Nope, still wrong.

Another clue, there was a 'Chaos Engine' type game made for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis which shared the same name but obviously does not share the same style of gameplay.

Man, this game sounds cool and obscure. I eagerly await the time when it's finally guessed, just so I can check it out. I don't suppose telling us what nationality it origins are would be your next clue?

Okay, next clue/s...

The game is set in the year 2050 and despite being set in the future the world is populated by elves, dwarves, humans, orcs, trolls, vampires, were-creatures, dragons, spirits etc.... and magic exists alongside UZIs, assult rifles and a whole range of various firearms and body armour. I would place the game to be set in the USA somewhere.

I'd say the dog you're referring to is Cerberous from Castlavania: SotN. But we all know that game was on a the Saturn also.

The whole platforming thing is throwing me off. What do you mean by it? Do you mean it's an RPG in which you can jump?
