Wildcards of the Borderlands

After many years of fierce warfare from one end of the continent to the other, the hardened border defenses of Harmonia have witnessed it all; daring raids, sudden invasions, fall-back orders, counterattack orders, infiltration and reconnaissance missions... the list goes on. Due to the tense, sustained nature of the current conflict, many officers and soldiers alike tend to request transfer to quieter regions within the Kingdom. Those stalwart watchmen who actually choose to be here - the glory-seekers, the courageous, the inebriated - often band together in small groups, unwilling to befriend most newcomers just to see them leave for more comfortable postings.

The Wildcards of the Borderlands is one such squadron. Known more officially as "the 84th H.M. Regiment", the Wildcards are named after their spontaneous and unpredictable methods of border patrol. Despite being classified as a mage unit within the Harmonian military's records, those in the ranks of the Wildcards tend to employ a much more diverse assortment of weapons, equipment, and tactics, much of which has the effect of confusing enemy attackers when combined.

Their founder and current leader is Delsaber, a relatively inexperienced young man from the far northern territories whose real name remains unknown. Under his tutelage the Wildcards have each been encouraged to develop their own personal combat techniques and quirks, although one common thread does exist among them. Delsaber wields a Sword of Thunder rune in battle, and similar runes of varying elements have been issued to all members under his command in the hopes of creating a familiar bond while maintaining their versatility and diversity on the field.

Regiment Name: The Merrymen Marauders
(formerly known as the 'Merrymen of the Grassland')

Still the ever so happy and merry members of the Grassland community, the Merrymen of the Grassland decided that they wanted to train themselves harder to figure out who among them would stay Merry after going through the rigorous training that they were about to do.

I was tasked to plan the said rigorous training, so I decided to add a few 'challenges' to my already perfect training method. They were still assigned to perform the daily drills of Bow Training and Rune Mastery 3 times a week, but I figured that in order to make the training more difficult, I made the drills 6 times a week instead. (I still gave them a day to rest, I'm not that heartless.) The forest survival training was still included, but a few changes were applied. I now stripped them of all possible tools for survival and left them to fend for themselves in one of the Grassland's many forests. And to truly seperate the Men from the boys, I added a new training: Horseback riding drills, because one day I hope that they all graduate into fine Mounted Archers.

Those who survived the training were admitted into my new regiment, and because the 'Merrymen of the Grassland' was a bit long, I had to come up with a name that strikes fear in the hearts of those foolish enough to face my trained sharpshooters. I decided to go along with the 'Merrymen Marauders', and it did serve it's purpose of striking fear into the hearts of many.

Mineland Volhvs

Mineland Volhvs are group of mages that were taught by their leader Aesir the way to invoke the power of gods to strengthen their magical abilities. He learned this method in his home village in Norðeland and brought it into Tinto. Each volhv choses patron god from Tinto Pantheon and begans his training to increase his connection with his patron. Volhvs can not be considered as priest since they do not perform preachings, they fully devote themselves to enhancement of their own channel with patron god. In order to do that in addition to their magical studies they participate in jobs that mostly closely related to their patrons since there they can learn to hear voices of their patrons especially good.

Those who chosen Amu Ingra as their patron work in forges and foundries. Amu Ingra often comes and speaks with them in shape of flame in furnace or melting metal.

Those who chosen Enra as their patron work in mines. They can hear voice of Enra in strikes of pickaxe and numble of wheels of mining cart.

Those who chosen Ruach as their patron work in crop fields or as woodsmans. Ruach speaks with them by rustling of grass and leafs on the trees.

Those who chosen Kum Anru as their patron work as prospectors. They hear loud voice of Kum Anru in landslides in mountains and thunderstorms in wilderness.

Those who chosen Mazeth as their patron work as fishermen. Quiet voice of Mazeth can be heard in murmuring of water over boards of their boats.

Such wide range of their activities does not allowes volhvs constantly be gathered in one place. However, when danger draws near to borders of Tinto, volhvs guided by their gods gather together to fight off the enemy of Tinto. More than anything volhvs price freedom, hence they consider aristocracy, who plays with lives of simple people for their petty ambitions, as their main enemy.

The Order of the Red Rose

The Order was first founded over fifty years ago, as a small group of devoted countrymen of the Scarlet Moon Empire. Their meetings began small, and had little purpose but to serve as the constant re-affirmation of a pact. Each member of the Order was sworn to give his life in the service of his homeland. They were not part of the military in a traditional sense, as most of them were aristocrats and had little business serving in the trenches. This early Order was more of a joke than anything else, as it lacked the combat potential to be useful to the Empire, and was simply a group of men who were inspired by a sudden flurry of patriotic fervor.

All of that changed, however, when the Order fell under the tutelage of the famous Imperial General, Milich Oppenheimer.

Under Milich, the Order learned other ways of battle, and learned how to ride their steeds with great ability as well as the casting of powerful magical spells. Proficient himself in the art of the blade, Milich also imparted some of his skills onto his pupils, forming the loose association of aristocrats into an extremely formidable fighting force. Proposing this idea to the then Golden Emperor, KoRnholio, Milich was immediately given leave to create and maintain his powerful new regiment of troops, shortly after he returned from alleged retirement after several brave Imperial Generals returned to him his most beloved Rose Broach.

Since that time, the Order of the Red Rose has been present at most major conflicts in the Scarlet Moon Empire, though they have infrequently gotten the opportunity to serve their nation in battle.

During the massive conflict between the forces of the Scarlet Moon Empire and the Tinto Republic at Lion's Maw, Milich's Order rode against General Harrekki and his spearmen. Despite their supposed effectiveness against mounted troops, Milich had the victory. He rode again the next day in battle against the Rangers of the famous swordsman, PF. Once more, the Order proved its mettle, cementing its place amongst the greatest of the Scarlet Moon Empire's regiments, even though the battle was lost.

Later, when the Tinto Republic's troops marched on the Imperial region of Kunan, Milich rode to defend his province at the head of a massive column of Imperial troops. However, soon after their arrival, the Tinto Republic's forces were revealed only to be a feint, consisting of no more than a few hundred men wearing the proper uniforms to confuse Imperial spies. Milich rode hard, pressing himself and two other generals to rendezvous with the Golden Emperor at Great Forest. However, Kooluk's forces were already withdrawing from battle, and so the Order instead rode into the Banner Mountains, to assist with the search for the hidden ninja hamlet of Rokkaku.

During yet another contest between the forces of the Scarlet Moon Empire and the Tinto Republic at the oft-besieged Lion's Maw, Milich led the Order of the Red Rose once more. However, due to the order of battle, Milich was fated never to see combat during that struggle.

Now, thirsty for victory on behalf of their homeland, the Order is clamoring for more action.

I changed the name of my regiment to 'Glitterati' (people who giltter). In spite of that, it's the same history. Inspired, I'm adding a few other blurbs of information on my regiment.

Training - The High Priest himself trains constantly every day, but only engages the men of his regiment to train every two days. Unlike physical attacking regiments, Arcanists need to only keep their mind pure and clear, focusing only on their magic training. Vincent Chase is also the resident magic tutor of Harmonia, and using this end, he has crafted his manly mages into one of the most feared magical regiments in the entire world.

Magic Skills
Fire Magic - A
Water Magic A+
Pale Gate Magic - --
Resurrection Magic - S
Lightning Magic - B+

Out of the leaders of the regiment, all of the Entourage (Glitterati) are very skilled physical fighters. Vince skillfully weaves through his foes with his sacred fencer, the Defender of the Faith, using his one-of-a-kind sword style that's an inconceivable but elegant cross between the Falcon, Scoprion and Wu Tang sword styles. Turtle is armed with a Rage Rune, in addition to the pistol that Vincent gave him, originally a gift for his many years of service leading the Howling Voice Guild. However, because guns are still relatively primitive, it's mostly just a dramatic effect (and he was only able to get a limited number of bullets). His closest friend Eric shoots a mean longbow and has the type of deadly range normally given only to the elves. Lastly, Johnny Drama, decked out in a similar body-armor makeup as Vincent, uses a large, silver double handled nunchaku that can split in the middle and provide a long, spiked chain. Vince's brother also possesses similar (but lesser) magical abilities, bearing a Darkness Rune.

History - The worst defeat in the history of the regiment was way back, many years ago, when Vincent's name had been different. The great Vampire sorceress from Verm Oogen, Midori had soundly beaten him in a one-on-one duel many years ago, a defeat he to this day had terrible nightmares about. Because of that defeat, he vowed to train harder than anyone between battles. His major victories include one over Edge Riou of Falena at Dusumnek and Shrew, Vaguelord of the Nameless Lands, at Crystal Valley.

During the last round of fighting, his unit clashed with that of the Flame Champion, Sybillious. Both squadrons were completely obliterated, and in the end he had been beaten by the skillful warrior from the Grasslands in a duel. He seeks to someday rise above this great loss, like he did once before.

Banner - I don't know how to make stuff like that. I'm thinking just the Circle Rune.

The TIN Demolition Crew

One of the newer units under control of the great Island Nations Federation, this unit has yet to be sent into battle. With curent numbers totaling no more than 106, the group is still under training. Hard training.

While not being as sturdy as the Pikemen, or as dextrous as the Archers, they have one thing: Elegance. Being magicians, they have the unique ability to do anything. Literally. One moment could be a singe of flame, while the next moment could be as chilling as a refrigerator. Beauty, combined with the blessing of the elements makes this not only a sight to see, but also deadly to those who oppose.

Another one of their more unique powers is the ability to summon the Mighty Oar. Standing at over a thousand feet tall, this oar is the same oar used by some guyduring the siege on L'Renouille. Triumphant, it lives on, aiding Islanders in desperate times of need. Surely, with this at their disposal, The TIN Demolition Crew is out to vanquish this land of all those who oppose the mighty flag of the Island Nations.

Currently, with no experience in warfare, they have yet to prove themselves. But the future looks bright for this young squadron - a future of victory and triumph.

Panserbørne of Svalbard

The Binders of Orranis that had been with Axiose since his "transition" from King to Mercenary had disbanded. His warriors had grown a distaste for war - creating too many dead creatures that would later on need destroying. Axiose had little else to do and decided to sail north to investigate rumors of mysterious cures that were available in the mysterious Archonate of Norðeland.

However, after arriving at the borders of Norðeland, Axiose could not find a safe port to land and got himself lost in a terrible storm. Crashing his boat on an unknown island, he found himself surrounded by a group of aggressive bears called "Panserbørne" who have the capacity to reason and speak. Due to his wolf appearance and his impossibly white fur, the bears did not attack him but instead offered him shelter and food.

Agreeing to an offer to meet the Bear King, Iorek Byrnison, he was informed of a "nest of shadows" that was slowly eating away at their western borders. Axiose set off to the west with a group of Panserbørne in full body armor with a mind to destroy the creatures. A successful battle later, the Wolf King returned to Iorek with the good news.

Before he had time to continue his search, Axiose received news that Chiepoo could no longer keep control the orders at the Trading Post, and he would need to prepare for his return journey. Before he left, Iorek sent many of his bear-warriors with him for "protection", though after some probing, Axiose discovered that many of the bears longed to partake in the wars on the "continent to the south".

The Panserbørne are able to work metals with great expertise using sharp claws and a specialized opposable thumb. They are fearsome, but loyal and liken their armor to a soul in meaning. The Panserbørne also cannot be tricked unless they act human with human wants and desires. Even though he was disheartened at not finding any more information about a cure for his condition, Axiose was comforted by the presence of the fluffy, white Panserbørne.

Heaven's Punishment

After exploring Kanakan with his army, Bloom (aka Iaido), the generals decided to reform the army for more efficiency and strength. Essentially for the time being they are still samarais that fight on horse back but have katanas equipped should they have to duel or fight enemies on the battlefield incase they're seperated from their horse. The name: Heaven's Punishment was given from the emperor of "Katana", the army finally being acknowledged as a legitimate protector of the sovereign state. Along with the title, the treasured unnamed katana of the royal family was given to the army's leader as a sign of power and legitimacy should anyone ever defy the laws of "Katana" or engage in battle with the army. The samurais are famous for combining legendry swordsmanship with strong magic, and for generals owning many rare katanas, some still rumoured to have been made by the famous swordsmiths Masamune and Muramasa.

Magic Skills
Fire Magic - A

The leader of the army is also gifted with the ship, The Masamune to help steer him through danger and deceit. It's a cold world out there.

Wave After Wave of Men

Parallax's original combat regiment, which had served with him during his time as a General in the Scarlet Moon Empire, the infamous Copperfield Crew was no more. Gone were all of the magicians and spells which had once surrounded Parallax, and indeed, he had come about full circle. Arrayed all about him now were a veritable legion of heavily armed and armored Crossbowmen.

Originally, Parallax led only a small group of Crossbowmen, regarded as the finest in the Empire, the legendary Fighting 181st. However, as the ranks of the Imperial Army began to swell, more and more troops flocked to Parallax's banner, and it became more effective to simply throw as many soldiers at an enemy as possible and hope that he came out on top. Thus, the new regiment (more of a strategy, really...) Wave After Wave of Men was born.

Parallax's combat history has been an affair of mixed successes. He saw action some months ago at the head of an Exploration party that successfully recovered the Rose Broach of famous general Milich Oppenheimer and incited him to return to Imperial service. He was also present at the conflict between the Scarlet Moon Empire and Tinto Republic between Dragon's Den and Lion's Maw. Due to circumstances, he was not able to see battle there.

Later, Parallax's regiment was at the head of the column of Imperial troops defending Great Forest from the assault of the Kooluk Empire. Using some rather underhanded trickery, Parallax managed to "convince" Emperor of Kooluk, Elc, that he fought a phantasm. Embarrassing his opponent, Parallax led his regiment to a victory over his demoralized foes.

Once more switching fronts, Parallax once again rode at the head of a column of Imperial troops as the Scarlet Moon Empire launched an unsuccessful attack on the fortress at Lion's Maw. He engaged and defeated Thief, a famous Tintonian General, but his depleted troops were later overcome by the skillful pikemen of the Stonewall Brigade and their famous leader, Acheron.

Just recently, Parallax once again chose to lead his army from the front next to the world-famous mercenary, Vector Xthonic, during a battle on neutral ground between the Scarlet Moon Empire and the Tinto Republic. Due to clever sabotage employed by the President of the Republic, iscalio, neither Parallax nor Vector Xthonic were able to claim victory over their adversaries, but the final outcome of the battle still remains unknown.

Regiment Name: Deranged Pointed Stick Slingers on Pink Horsies

The Zexen Military has weakened again and again after many phases of defeat that it came to the point that soldiers serving under the confederate banner have lost their morale and have gone mad. To make matters worse, the Zexen economy has sunk so low that the nation can't even afford to provide enough funds to buy the medicines needed by Councilman Zaleria to keep himself sane. As time went by, the worst came: Lord Zaleria has gone mad and so were his men.

But the confederacy cannot afford any more losses in its military arm so the council had no choice but to still deploy the mad councilman to the battlefield together with his equally mad subordinates, armed with pointed sticks which are expected to act as substitutes to the costly standard arrows that the zexen military uses. The madmen are mounted on pink horses in hopes of quelling their madness a little because according to the research announced by the Zexen academy, the color pink helps these madmen relax a little.

Thier madness is a force to be reckoned with.

Tsukino Heion:
The Tsukino Heion is a small group of mercenaries. Each member has a bond to the moon in some form or another. Some believe it is a guidepost for their lives, some just view it as beautiful, and some see their families in the face of the moon. There there are some who worship it like it's a deity. There are many members of the Tsukino Heion; Mitchell, Essel, Landis, and Bob. Besides them, no mercenary stays for too long, leaving to join nations, go back to their families, or find less risky and dangerous work.

Mitchell: Mitchell is the leader of this group of ragtag mercs. Not a very talkative young man, he is always seen sneaky away from the main camp and sending Essel to Caldeaux with letters. He's constantly chasing Bob around the camp for some idiotic thing he's done. Cold, calm, calculating, and quiet on the outside, once you get to know him, he's not half bad a person. He often chooses to keep to himself until he gets comfortable with someone's presence. Essel is the only member of the Tsukino Heion that he really trusts. Mitchell thinks he's cursed to always run into horrible monsters, wherever he may go.

Essel: A little fairy in service of Mitchell. During battle, she often hides inside his robes and armor. She's mainly a scout and an informant, due to her small size and ability to turn invisible to anyone but her master. She takes letters to Caldeaux from Mitchell. Sometimes, she'll disapear for days to do this. Mitchell is very protective of Essel, and treats her like family. She secretly has a crush on Landis.

Landis: Though not an official member of the Tsukino Heion, Landis goes through Mitchell to find work. He likes to fly in and scare the soldiers. Secretly, Mitchell is also freaked out by him, but he never shows it. Bob is Landis' favourite scare target.

Bob: And then there's Bob. What can I say about Bob? Bob is the only man known to the Tsukino Heion to actually have the overwhelming ability to blow up... ramen noodles. No one knows how, but it's constantly falling from the night skies. He's deathly afraid of Wingers, especially Landis, and Mitchell is always after him for something that he shouldn't have done. Like blow up ramen all over the camp.

The Runic Staves

The Runic Staves are a regiment of Zexen soldiers who formed under the Zexen flag during it's period of darkness. They are a magician unit, and, under training from the Zexen Academy, is growing in power with each day. They look forward to the day when they can represent the Zexen Confederacy on the battlefield, and show them their power.

Armed simply with staves, their true power lies in their Runic abilities. The regiment has been fitted with both Fire and Lightning Runes, both of which are potent when used on the field, but even more so when they are united. The spell "Blazing Camp" has become synonomous with the Runic Staves.

Currently, the Runic Staves still construct and perfect their magical abilities, waiting for the call from the Zexen Council to join in the struggle to regain their lost lands, and return to Zexen's Golden Age.

La Ra zi ta

During an exploration of the Obel ruins, Jorge found a rune that could summon mysterious creatures that he calls "La razita." Not much is known about the Rune nor "La Razita", except that they are very loyal to Jorge, and they are good at "copying." Also, they sometimes randomly go into song.

The Booze Men

After two long years of training, The Booze men have evolved, manlier, bigger, and even manlier than ever before. Did I mention they are manly? But the road they walked through was a hard and perilous one.

The initial members of the booze men all died of Cirrhosis, let's face it they were all a bunch of puny magicians who couldn't really handle their liquor. Nevertheless their leader, Futch, signed a dark pact with the gods of booze. And thus, with his dying breath, asked for his men to be reborn.

His wish was granted at the price of his men and himself forever walking as corpses, never satisfied with anything; no drink could quench their thirst, no food could silence their hunger.
The Zombie Booze men were a force to be reckoned with; slaying thousands and falling countless times. You can't believe how fragile zombie skin is; luckily they would rise again and again until they prey died.

But one fine day, as Mr. Futch Eronie was gluing his left arm back to his body (Did I mention zombies are fragile?) a beautiful maiden appeared before him:

Maiden: Futch, you have proven your uber manliness in the battlefield, no man is manlier. Nevertheless... you are not a man; you are but a shadow of your former self.

Futch: Have you come here just to insult me, lady? I admit you are hot, a bit old, but hot. But I won't tolerate this kind of insult!

Maiden: SHUT UP YOU DRUNK, I'M TELLING YOU I'LL MAKE YOU A REAL MAN AGAIN. AND WHO ARE YOU CALLING OLD!???! BETTER SWEAR ALLIEGANCE TO ME OR I'LL CRUSH YOU.

Futch: Sorry Hon, I'm working for Duke Leb.

Maiden: Erm... he quitted.

Futch: No way!

Maiden: Yeah, Way!

Futch: NOO WAAAY!

Maiden: OOOH, WAAAAY! NOW SWEAR ALLEGIANCE TO ME, CELES TILLY, NEW RULER OF THE ISLAND NATIONS! *ROAR*

Futch: O.k., that roar you just pulled really convinced me, go ahead! make me a man!

Celes raised her left hand, chanted some words in a language Futch never heard of in his life and felt how his rotting body gained blood, flesh, and all the nifty things that make a manly man.

Futch: Holy Wanamingos, it really worked!

Celes: Of course it did, I rule; literally.

And thus the Zombie Booze Men became Marine Knights for the Island Nations, revitalized completely, their magic skills lost; but their manliness forever rising.

Six Pokémon Party

Totodile - Needs a lot of training, but has huge potencial.

Blastoise - "King of the Seas", one of the stongest pokémon alive. Two words... Hydro Pump.

Lapras - This pokémon can "talk" with humans, by using his mental powers. With a mix of water and psychic moves, he can defeat most of his enemies.

Swampert - This Water/Ground pokémon can destroy his enemies with his strong physical power. Earthquake is his favorite move to finish his enemies.

Golduck - This pokémon is not a psychic type, but learns psychic moves too. With high speed and special attack power, Golduck can finish his battles fast.

Missingno. - Glitch pokémon.

:P
