What exactly do you mean when you define them as "limited" formations?

it says the limited formations only appear as a selectable option when you have a certain number of normal sized characters in your party.

so the twin slash would require 2 people, tri wind requires 3 people, quad lightning requires 4 people, and pent phoneix requires 6 people.

hope this is what you were asking for.

1: each character regains hp equal to 30 + hero's level.

2: it deals damange based on 100% of your character's combined attack score to a column of foes.

3: characters get a 20% physical defense boost.

4: all character attack first at the begining of combat.

5: party forms a spinning star that deals damange to all foes based on 40% of your combat attack scores.

6: damange dealt to your party is halved for the turn.

7: all characters attackfirst at the begining of the battle.

8: on your first character's turn, your characters execute a column attack that deals damange based on 120% of their combined attack score.

9: attack with damange based on your party's combined attack score after enemies attack first. can be used repeatedly.

10: only character #1 will be targeted by foes. can be repeatedly as long as the character is #1 is alive.

11: characters execute a column attack that deals damange based on 140% of their combined attack score.

12: enemies cannot attack this turn. you characters attack automatically.

13: all your characters attack first at the begining of combat.

14: character #4 may choose a spell to cast twice in a row (at the cost of 1 mp). all other characters defend.

15: annihiliate all enemies. can only be used against enemies that are lower level than your party.

16: characters deal damange to all foes based on 120% of their combined attack scores.

17: each character attacks a single enemy in turn and deal 50% additional damange. this is a wind type attack. (not possible if any one is unconcious)

18: on your first character's turn, your characters deal lightning type damage to all foes based on 70% of their combined attack score.

19: on your first character's turn, your characters deal fire type damage to all foes based on 60% of their combined attack score.

20: on the large character's turn, all characters are healed by an amount equal to 100 plus 5 per level of the large character.

21: at the begining of the turn, all party characters get a +20 evasion bonus.

22: choose a single enemy. as your characters defend, your large characters will enter a fury state for one turn, and attack a chosen character. it will then recover all damage dealt as hp.

23: annihilates all enemies. can only be used against enemies that are lower level than your party.

Where exactly are the Quad Lightning and Pent Phoenix located at in their respective dungeons? I've scoured both and can't seem to find them. Thanks.

pent formation is in the second dead end in the twilight forest. that is all it's said on it. i could even find it. but it says hug to the right and it'll take you to the first 2 treasure which the pent is the 2nd treasure.

the quad lightning is east of the entrance on the stairs.

Circle formation ability is nuts -- you get a free turn of auto attacks, during which opponents cannot dodge or counter (at least they never did on me), and than for the next turn you can pick another formation and use its abilities.

Generally I use Arrow as my default (I can get away with only 1 S range char with it, also I can afford to have multiple double edges runes equiped since chars in the back middle almost never get hit. Also it doesnt clump chars too close togeather so it looks nice.

I use cercle when I want to be cheesy, and Sorcery when I want to be flashy.

As long as your party can resist a few direct attacks and survive, the True Men formation skill is just awesome. It usually clears out any random encounter, or at least half HP of everything oin the screen. I used it against a certain boss at Stormfist and the battle was over the next turn.

That certain boss at Stormfist lasted 3 characters attacking for me, and I only needed two of them, I think I was using Crane Wing. The problem with True Men is that it doesn't suit the characters I use.
