I'm pretty sure I picked the right choices in Sable and I saw their recruitment message but they were never available to me and then I saw there names were in blue for oboro's dective thing and I told him to investigate Faylena and I got "She apears to be in the graveyard." So did they they die and I didn't notice or what?

Um, I'm not sure about whether they're dead or not. Try taking Roy back to the bandit's lair and see if they're hanging around. Or check the Tablet of Promise to see if their names were blacked out.
