I use the sorcery formation the most when, I'm stuck with some mages. Chain Magic + Star Rune = Pwned.

My team most of the time was:

Prince
Lyon
Belcoot
Dinn/Georg(when he's available)
Zegai/Galleon(switched to galleon when I got him)
Zerase

When I feel lazy I used the True Men formation. The skill on that formation is just wicked. Makes boss fights a lot easier.

My team for this is:

Prince
Lyon/Miakis
Georg
Galleon/Zegai
Richard
Belcoot

The Illusion formation is awesome too,
