You're right but technically Casandra and Sophitia are from the Ottoman Empire (Athens). They did this because of the timeline. It aided in painting the picture of the environment they wanted to show the gamer.

Was the Ottoman Empire even around at that time? on Cassandra and Sophitia's profile it says " Athens,Ottoman Empire (Turkey) but Athens was in Greece, and Troy once existed on the landmass of today's Turkey.

The European names are usually in Zexen (Borus, Percival, Leon, Roland, Chris, Louis, Salome, Thomas, Bart, Augustine, et cetera). I would concede that Hugo is a very unusually name for a Grasslander. They say in game, if I'm not mistaken, that Hugo is "Little Feather" in the native Karayan tongue. That's the only clue we get about the Karayan language, too, so it's hard to really say anything about.

Chris and Roland are European names?

Roland is the French Knight in the epic. Chris? Well, probably from the English.

Yup, it says that in their character Bio's in the game if I'm not mistaken. "Ottoman Empire (Athens)". The Ottoman Empire was more expansive than just modern day Turkey. In fact at it's height, the Ottoman Empire held much of the Mediterranian Coastline. All of the Greek Peninsula, much of North Africa, a stretch of land to the Black Sea and some of the coastline of the Red Sea. The Ottoman Empire is actually one of the biggest clues from the game that is used to try to convey the chronology of the game.

Roland: German "Famed throughout the land"
Chris: Greek "Short for Christopher or Christine"
->Christopher: Greek "Christ Bearer"
->Christine: Greek "Christ Bearer"
Germany and Greece are both European nations.
