Hey all, it's Icebergin, just got everything squared away ay my new college, and I love it here!
Anywho, I've been TRYING to play Suikoden IV, but I keep getting disinterested... I'm just starting to recruit people and have been hanging around Na'Nal and such... does the game get better? I've been splitting time between MGS3 and SuikoIV, and so far I'm havign to force myself to do SuikoIV, any ideas/thoughts? |

I hate to put down a Suikoden game on a suikoden website, but play MGS3. I am sorry to all you suikdoen 4 fans, but MGS3 is a better game than Suikoden 4. |

Well, buddy, I will say that I found the beginning quite boring as well, but it does get better as the game goes on. However, I regret to say that if that's how you view it now, you won't have a huge change of heart or anything. It will get better, but it won't change into the best game of your life. As far as MSG3, haven't played it, so I can't comment on that. _________________

If you want to play Metal Gear Solid 3 more, play it more and come back to Suikoden IV later.
Perhaps it's just me, but I find it much more fun when playing games if I don't have another game on the backburner I feel pressure to finish first.
Suikoden IV does get better, I think, later on, but unfortunately, just as it hits it's stride...Well, I think it's over all too quickly. _________________

I agree with the uqeen. The game starts at a VERY low point, then builds up pretty well. The bad part is that just as things get better and better, bam! There comes the ending. _________________ "Oranges can't fit into circles because rectangles are made of cheese." |

Ah, I see... Hmmmm... I don't mind splitting time between it and MGS3 at all, I was just hoping for some advice on how to, I dunno, get into the game more. It's really odd, because I love Suikoden Lore, and I always thought the Island Nations would be cool... and i Love Pirate-esque settings... but so far the only character in the game I have any like for is Kika... lol _________________

One thing that i found fun, but later on in the game, is experimenting with the different unite attacks. Some of them can be pretty funny when they fail and i thought that was cool. Another thing i found fun, but again later on in the game, was using the net to fish for objects around the islands. Especially trying to find the different clothes for you know who. So i guess this hasn't helped much since you said you are just starting, but yea there are better things to come so just stick with it. Even though i had a lot of fun with Metal Gear Solid 3. _________________

the unite attacks, bath scenes and training are fairly fun; do it as an inbetween, rather than a 'must do,' otherwise, any potential enjoyment will be squashed immediately. it's more a recreation than anything-time killer is a good term. _________________ prinny...DOOD!

Sorry guys, I dunno whrther its correct to post the question here or not, but I am just wondering, before the final battle of Suikoden 4, Leknaat will appeared to Hero4, so does it mean the RoP had changed from the atonement phase to forgiveness? Does it mean that after that incident when you use your RoP you will not hurt yourself? - Please let me know if I am wrong to post it here, Thankz and sorry guys... :P |

i would have to say finish the game you want to first then play the other game. from your post it seems as if you feel a need to play suiko4. to be honest 4 didn't really hit it for me like 3 did. so i continued to play 3 until i was finished. 4 didn't seem so bad after 3 since i got a feel for suikoden somewhat. _________________

I couldn't find thread appropriate for my question and don't want to create new only for asking about it so I will ask my questions here:
Of course about SIV:
1. In one of the comments from Flare she speaks about her music box. Is there such possibility in the game to hear song from this musicbox and if so where is this thing.
2. I was wondering when you could here this song conected with Rune of Punishment - i don't know what is it's title but it was playing is some trailer when some person was speaking :"This is Rune that governs forgiveness and atonement...". Besides it could be heard when you let Snowe leave on this small boat in his noble's suit.(well that are the places I remember hearing it).
I would appreciate any help. _________________

1. I don't think we can hear this music box at all. I think it was just a typical message a Star of Destiny may send to the hero in order to get to know them better.
Too bad. I've always wanted Suikoden to incorporate hidden scenes in their games. I'd like to follow up on my party member's messages. A lot of them seem like actual requests. It'd make a good side quest.
2. You can hear that song during the last time you exile Snowe. I can't remember whether or not the first time you send him out to sea, plays this tune.
There is also a time during Suikoden Tactics when this song plays. But that's all I'll say about that since it's spoiler related. _________________

Thank you very much , however it's shame that we can't obtain this song for this singing/playing guy..Etienne I belive. I liked this song very much.
Oh well, it seems it can't be helped. _________________
