I prefer good old Europe's front cover. There's also a japanese cover that confuses me a lot.
Does the images on this represent the Water Margin story characters instead of Tir and the others?

Not at all. It's been said before, but the I don't think the artists played the game, they were just given a discription and told to make a cover.
But I'm guessing they are: (From top left going counter clockwise)
Barbarosa
Ted
Windy
Demon Sorceror (From Neclord's Castle)
Leknaat
Tir
And in the center Ted riding Black, which is I'm guessing from the beginning when going to Magician's Island.

| I don't think the one you said is Tis is really Tir. The guy has a globe thing on the end of his staff. I guess he would be a magician but I can't really think of anyone who would fit. |

Well I'm guessing it's Ted cause of the arrows on his back. I can't think of anyone else who uses a bow and would go on the cover.
And I say it's Tir cause he weilds a staff. Just reading that, and then reading about rune magic, some people might confuse it with a wizard staff.

Actually Tir does have "globes" on both ends of his staff:  His staff's just been drawn a bit too thin and the colourization is wrong. And I'm thinking just like Milan Fiori on the rest of the characters too.

hmmmm you know guys, that wouldn't be very stupid... he does look more like a magician.. but what if it represented ( on the right) tyr and odessa and ( on the right) windy, barbarossa and ted. yes ted because he is against you in some point because of windy's influence.
it could be showing the two sides that are oppossing each other.. and since the dragon den is usually neutral for most of the game then its normal that futch and black are shown in the middle along with the toran tower....
as for the monster... i have no idea....

Actually, we had always assumed the mage with the staff was Luc. That was what we had come to speculate years ago. Of course no one has any way to confirm or disprove anything. Except the three-headed skeleton!

I think it\s pretty inaccurate too. I guess the artist was never told of the characters before and was asked to do a rendition based on simply bios. Also, maybe this has something to do with Suikoden: Demon Century... But i'm not actually sure...
But i still liked the cover and bought it anyway. I have that exact same cover here at home.
