[Phase 6] Jowston vs. Scarlet Moon Empire at South Window [Concluded]

Southwindow was under siege again. Only a month ago the Scarlet Moon Empire had been pushed from its walls, but a new army had already emerged from the Badlands. The Jowstonians were weary of this long and difficult war, but they would not allow foreign armies to raid and ransack their cities. They took their grain and their scythes and took refuge behind the walls of Northwind fortress. Many were eager to force the Imperials off their land, but Governor Starslasher remained steadfast, letting Scarlet Moon take the first move.

Just before dawn a detachment of troops under the Governor of Senan, Alkazar, left the Scarlet Moon camp. They brought with them rams and siege ramps, and the loud rumbling of wheels on the dirt road awoke the sentries of Jowston.

Felipe sounded the alarm and ordered his men to the walls. 31250 troops answered the call of the Brave Horde. His men in position, Felipe let out a cry and arrows flew down upon the scarlet troops.

Alkazar ordered his 7000 infantry to shield themselves, but the arrows came at such a rate that the shields of the infantry began to crack and split. Seeing the desperate situation, Alkazar himself began to pull the siege ramp, and his men were revitalized and pushed with new vigor.

Felipe ordered his men to concentrate on the siege engine, but it was too late. The ramp swung up to top of the castle walls and scarlet troops began charging into the castle. The Imperials charged into the Jowston archers, but there were too few; over half their comrades lay dead below and they only just realized the sheer number of Jowstonians they were facing. The battle calmed, and none of the Sons of Senan still stood; Felipe had lost only 7837 men.

During this battle Seraph and her 8000 mages had cast a spell to hide themselves and moved around to the opposite side of the castle. They called upon their Wind Runes to tear down the walls of Northwind, and the wind howled and lashed at the castle, tearing it apart.

Inside Governor Starslasher took notice of the odd winds, and took his men from reinforcing Filipe to investigate. As they drew close to the outer wall he recognized the winds as runic magic and ordered the gates opened. The terrified gatekeeper complied, and the Thunder Elemental charged onto the field.

Shocked to see 43750 infantrymen charging toward him, Seraph ordered the Seraph Field Marshalls to stop the chant and concentrate on this new enemy. Winds plucked the infantry up and tossed them aside, but still they charged. The Jowstonians broke through the magic barrier and began to slaughter the Imperial magicians. Seraph ordered retreat, but Starslasher encircled and trapped them. All 8000 perished in the fight while Starslasher had lost 2588.

The victorious men returned to Northwind while the armies of the Scarlet Moon planned the next step in the siege.
