[Phase 5] Grassland Expedition Party (Northern Grassland)

Abyscal, Cyrano, and MMan9000 have been exploring one of the abandoned lizard clan tunnels with a massive contingent of 60000 soldiers. Soldiers removed blocked passages and built bridges over underwater currents to continue north in this ancient passage.

"This tunnel has not been used for a very long time," Abyscal the lizard clan chief said as he gazed ahead into the darkness, holding his massive glide-spear.

"You guys sure are good at digging passages..." MMann9000 quipped as he traced the sigils etched into the walls.

"Oh no, we did not make these tunnels. It was made by a people far more ancient than us lizardkind," Abyscal replied. Mman9000 nodded, impressed with the wise lizard's knowledge.

The exploration party continued on, going for dozens of miles within the subterranean tunnel. Many soldiers were starting to become afraid--some have started to say that the tunnel was endless, or that it led to the netherworld. The leaders kept assuring their men that there was nothing to fear.

After a few more days, their efforts paid off. Soldiers cheered upon seeing sunlight at the end of the tunnel. The party proceeded with excitement, but were astonished upon exiting the darkness; they found themselves at an entrance into a massive ruin, probably of a city that belonged to the ancients.

The leaders ordered the soldiers to spread out and search for anything that looked interesting. During the search, the three parties came accross a couple thousand monsters scattered about, but managed to defeat them while suffering some casualties.

Cyrano, with his keen eyesight, was able to spot a remarkably preserved building that was filled with various books and scrolls. One scroll got his attention, and he took it with him.

Abyscal's men managed to find a subterranean lair under the city, which led to an underground deep-water port. A few days of further investigation revealed to them that the river led directly to the Zexen gulf, meaning Grassland can launch naval attacks from this area.

MMann9000's clever magicians also surveyed the area and deducted that it is habitable, and would be well suited for the displaced Safir Clan members and Yaza nomads to take residence. Thus, Grassland gains a new region "Ceremonial Site."
