The construction of the Pride was undertaken by the shipwrights of Vinay Del Zexay as a symbol to commemorate the new harmony between the city and the Grassland. It is constructed in a very bluff-bowed style. This is emphasized by the powerful battering ram that crests the prow. The entirety of the ship is built of very sturdy oak timbers, reinforced along every side of the ship to make it better suited for using its ram in close quarters while remaining afloat. The masts are capped with sails that are larger than the norm to better harness the winds and coax more speed out of the ship. The ship is also crewed primarily by those from Vinay Del Zexay and the ship serves well as a sign of the accepting and multi-cultural nature of the Grassland.
